Yes Ivy still there on the upper floor near the entrance to Marks at the Debenhams side. Great shop
If you sign up for their loyalty scheme and give your email address you get a discount on the first purchase then after you've bought a certain number of pairs you get a voucher. Can't see me ever buying enough to get a voucher but the initial discount was worth havingIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
It's gone back to being called the Glades. Intu spent a fortune on rebranding then sold it after about a year. Still at least the loos are no longer squalid!
There's also a branch of Hotter shoes in the High Street near Smiths and a big Deichmann shop which opened last year. Never tried their shoes but if they suit your feet they seem very good valueIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
Thanks maryb, that's brilliant. I knew about the Hotter shop, I found that one last time :j It was, not surprisingly, very busy0

NM Many landlords will plan to have a new tenant lined up in advance . The ones I know tend to do any necessary repairs and updating this time of year as trades are more readily available ( apart from heating engineers and stove installers )
It not economic to leave property empty so they plan in advance .
They generally prefer to have checked and approved the next tenant so there is a quick transition .
Apart from anything else it isn't good from a security point of view to advertise an empty property . Also at this time of year onwards the issues of unheated property can be costly .
Re the carnations I grow them myself but buy them once the season ends . Until a few years ago I never saw so many clumps of the offshoots . You can propogate loads . It must be the forced growing methods .

I wonder why they leave them undecorated and looking a mess then when there are two identical properties both just done up in the same street. DS can't see it is photographers that make one look very small and one look huge when they are the same house. One still has the stickers on all the windows which says to me they are brand new. Actually the builders are in the garden on the photos.
The other that is not available to view is tenanted until the end of November. I am not accepting a house unseen.
I think I will be going on my own some time this week. I have also seen in another area to where we have been looking a gorgeous Edwardian House. I had to laugh, who ever did the photographs has obviously fallen in love with it. There are rather a lot of photos as he/she photographed all the original fireplaces, original fitted cupboards in the sitting room and the dining room, stain-glass windows, beautiful staircase and other fittings. The bathroom and kitchen are modern though. The trouble is the rent is right at the top of our limit.
ivyleaf I would highly recommend hotter shoes. I have never managed to wear a pair out even when I wore them for work everyday for 7 years. Then removal men manage to lose 2 of my hotter shoes (yes I still can't work out how the box was sealed?) Unfortunately they were both right shoes so I lost two pairs. If they had lost one of each foot I could have dyed them to match as they were the identical shoe. They also stopped making that shoe and I can't get any to fit me. If they ever bring it back I shall have some. The rest are too wide.0 -
nursemaggie I have a couple of pairs, and some sandals. Sooo comfy! I'm so sorry you lost two right shoes, what a rotten thing to happen, and as you say, strange when the box was sealed0

Sorry I've not posted for a couple of days. Been recovering from my journey to the mainland on Saturday. Public transport has its limitations when it involves various combinations of walks, buses, trains, ferries and cabs. Not helped by hundreds of students migrating and the M3 being closed most of the day.
Suffice it to say that it took me 5 hours to get there and 5 hours to get home again. It was worth it though, quite a few of us battled our way through to our school year reunion. 60 years since we all left school and went off to university or college.
Sadly every year there are one or two faces missing but those of us still dodging the grim reaper still manage to have a raucously good time.

fuddle: contentment and I are besties. atm millie-dog is fast asleep in her bed on my bedroom floor, I am tucked up in bed with my hot-water bottle, the TV is on and I have an old black and white film recorded to watch. I've just finished a mug of hot chocolate and am warm, comfortable and happy.
