The grand kitchen clear out is well under way. I've put 6 strange sized jars in the recycling box and 30 two litre ice cream tubs. DH goes through one a week! All the benches have had a good scrub down and everything has to earn its keep if it's to stay.😊
Waiting for Asda delivery. So far only two subs.

I confess - still in my pjs and I didn't wash up last night - I hadn't cooked dinner was my excuse but really - I was so tired.
Mr F has ordered a pressie for me - need to organise my kitchen worktops to make space for it.
Having TITH for dinner tonight and I will bake a cherry scone round to fill the oven.

I hope you don't mind me bursting in like this, I've been lurking for a while and I'd love to join as in the past I've found this thread real food for the soul...right now the news is terrifying me, and I think the solution is the batten down the hatches, look inwards (to home) and find solace in all things OS...

I think the media stir up the public who then panic. Tell people that there will be a shortage of something and guess what - there is because it all has been bought and stockpiled.

You are very welcome to join us. If you've been lurking you may be aware of a certain Ming Vase. Advice is do not accept any sweets or edibles crafted with her own fair hands or stand too close to her "Niche".

I'm seriously considering glueing the Ming Vase in her Niche. That'll stop her gallop as my mum used to say.

At the moment Ming is behaving and hopefully will continue to do.

We are in strange times but finding solace in OS is a positive step. Fear never solves anything but taking each day as it comes and if you are working setting routines of work and you time helps.

We talk about anything and everything here. There may be another spider, I suspect Ming is breedimg them.

One thing about the fence is if someone is sad, worried or having a difficult time there will be listening ears. Many of us have known tough, sad or bad times . There are no trolls lurking here, the MIng got rid of them.

There are crafters here, carers I'm looking at you monna  and wondering if you'll manage to chuck the glitter at  your cobwebs this Christmas. There's a mix but we rub along together. We're actually on page 1390 of the thread now which is quite good considering some of the previous tougher threads came to an abrupt end.

I suppose that means Ming is an asset really rather like having a very fierce guard dog at your gate repellling any who may seek to disrupt things.

Time for a discussion. I know that charity shops often get lots of rubbish in the donations - a way of offloading unwanted items?
Now I am talking about people giving out of date food to The Salvation Army.
Do they think people who need to ask for a food parcel don't look at dates? Yesterday a bag of food was handed in at SA - there was a September 6th nut roast.
 I am not a date person - if something looks and smells okay - I judge it to be edible. I know a lot of people never use items one day over the date - members of my family included.

Hi MandM. I'm a very peaceable gentle wee Vase, an asset to this Fence. Don't listen to that pollyparrot!

I'm thinking this winter is going to be seriously not funny, and god knows what things will be like next year. I want to lock the doors, shut the curtains, and knit like hell. If we have good warm knitted socks and wraps then we can maybe  turn down the heating that is apparently going to cost the utter earth.

M&M welcome, I stopped reading/listening to the news as it made me worry. I concentrate on me and my family, I can't do anything about the wider issues so I try to ignore them. Keeping us cosy on the boat, walking my dog and crochet etc those are the things I concentrate on.

Florenceem giving OOD food to a charity is wrong, I'm not one for worrying about dates for myself but I would not donate it to charity.

I've just fired myself from cleaning my house.  I didn't like my attitude and I got caught drinking on the job.
