Sounds like your mum had a lovely day, mothernerd. Simple things - flowers, cake, family.
No drama needed about turkey shortages, you will probably still be able to get turkey breasts, turkey legs, things you can make a good meal out of. And if turkey becomes completely extinct in the shops there are other magnificent roast potential ingredients out there. Even herbivores can make a really posh celebration roast. One life - your life - live it!7 -
By the sound of it I'd better get on and defrost my freezer if I want a turkey breast in, it's been hit and miss getting them round here for about 2 months.
Still if I can't get hold of 1 we are both happy to eat other stuff, one year when I was working christmas day I did toad in hole and OH got the veg ready for me, only one to protest was furry owner as she did not like yorkshire pudding but she was happy to have some of the sausage from my plate.
Well today has been about using up fruit from the garden, so 2 big crumbles and a take on eve's pudding which I'm calling a jezabelle pudding as the plums have turned the pears red. And the crumbles are going in the freezer for later in the week..................I can see me still have to work on getting the freezer down lol.

Just the two of us so we don't bother with turkey unless there was a YS bargain.
Been shopping this morning.
I have spent the last couple of days working on lengthening school blazer sleeves and repairing a coat and cardigan.
I also had a knit fabric dress to shorten - not easy stuff to work on.
I was given a jacket to see if I could do something to repair - a yanked off part of a metal catch - I can't but I have an idea.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Found out we are completing on our house next week. I'm sure when we last moved -over 30years ago we got about a month between contract and completion. The removers have delivered a vast number of boxes and I'm desperately trying to fill them. DH seems to be just moving stuff around but very little is going in boxes.
To make matters worse our new house isn't ready yet so we are having to put most of our stuff into storage.7 -
Good luck with the move Annieb
My DH is like that when I ask him to tidy or declutter
I'm sure you will get there

Ooooh nice annie, exciting! My husband is the same, he won't throw anything out if he can help it. I swear he leaves tiny wee screws and bike bits lying around on the furniture then 6 years later starts screaming that he "just" put x or y down there and now it's gone8

MingVase - I found him on a street corner - I suppose he could be returned there. Thing is - he has his useful moments.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
