Burtha, sorry to hear about your son-in-law's brother. The family must be in a mess.
Florence, that sounds painful. Could you see your gp if you can't see the dentist?

Florence I have PM'd you re the pain.Burtha such sad news about the passing of the young man. Condolences to you and yours.DD had an accident this week while on hoilday in N Wales when she tripped over a kitchen step and fell. After 6hrs in A&E she came out with broken toes and a chipped bone on the right foot and sprained ligaments and tendons in the left leg /ankle. She now has a short NHS boot on the right foot and a toe to knee one on the left leg/foot, plus she has a pair of crutches 😱 The silly thing is that she'd only been in her holiday cottage for about 2hrs ! She has now hired a wheelchair for the rest of the week so that she can do a bit of sightseeing 🦽 Unfortunately the horse riding with DGD and the trampolining with both DGC is now out, but their Daddy will do it instead, wish I could see that ! 🤣 Hopefully there will be a video 🤞🏽Sending virtual hugs to those who are having a hard time at presentnanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently5

burtha - such sad news about the loss of a young life.
pollyanna_26 - Hadn't heard of TMD - looked it up - does sound like my symptoms. I am struggling to eat - had some tinned rice pudding for lunch - don't know how I can visit the dentist as can't open my mouth very wide. Normally if you have a tooth that is causing face pain - you can feel it throbbing.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

MrsCD - very hard to get to see a Dr here - no new docs want to move to the area. A lot of local GPs are coming up to retirement and work part time. I had a medication review last week with the in house Pharmacist - new thing at my surgery. I have an appt to see her for blood pressure/weighing - all designed to take load off Doctors. I have a phone call due this Wednesday about my swollen ankles - I think I need a face to face appt in view of the family history of heart problems.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Is your Drs practise one or more doctors? I can't work out if your phone call on Wednesday is with your GP or not.Our Dr is a one man practise but he does have back up from a female Dr acting as a locum when needed. There have had to be changes from the norm due to the amount of pressure since late feb last year.Every call goes through triage to decide who deals with patients queries and is passed to the most apppropriate person. With other surgeries locally he set up the Vaccination hub and the staff set up all appts liasing with patients. He has kept an eye on both youngest and myself and has spoken to her reguarly . If you are concerned about your ankles in view of the family history I would think your GP or if there is more than one will see you.Have you looked on the practise website? Ours has been really good throughout the pandemic and is updated reguarly. A few months ago it announced The Surgery is Open . Patients do have to speak to the Practise manager first but all calls are triaged and many go through to the man himself to arrange an appt. He's done a lot of online contact with dd , he's still trying to get her in physicallly but that will happen when she's ready.A lot of DRs operate the named Dr option. Although ours is more a lone GP in normal times, we both signed up years ago and it means unless he's on holiday or ill we will always be seen by him. Dd has only seen the locum once when he wasn't there. It might be worth you looking at the website if you haven't already. The NHS is open but in a managed way.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Looking for advice on a printer Fencers - do you have to get a wireless one or can you still buy ones that connect with a cable? I've heard that wireless printers are hellish.

I have a wireless printer Ming. It solved the problem of not being able to get a table near my computer and I was able to find another place to plug in. I don't have any problems with it.

Just tripped over the fence and seen this, Ming, we ordered a Canon printer today, should arrive tomorrow (!!?), Have had horrendous time with two Hepsons over the last 18 months. They were wire-connected, but had touch screen type controls, which rarely worked. We are hoping the Canon will be more reliable, and it has proper buttons you can push.
BTW whenever I see your name I mentally break into the YingTongSong, which is very satisfying to sing, so thank you for choosing it.9 -
We've always had HP Mar. I'll have to ask youngest what the latest one is. it went into lockdown with her . i suspect it will be wireless. A more recent problem we found with some brands is rather than full ink cartridges they're starter - not much ink - so they promote ordering regular deliveries of ink.First HP seemed to last forever and we haven't had problems until they were worn out. They did a of printing over the years. I think the most recent one is only the 3rd in many years. None were touch screen. That's an earworm to go to bed with SL. No doubt the Ming will be adorning her Ming Vase with suitable embellishments.Night all. Sleep tight.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
