So sorry to hear such sad news monna. 77 years is certainly a great acheivement and heartenend to hear they could see each other although they didn't expect it to be for the last time.
Well done burtha, you made it!8 -
Well done, burtha! It's been a long hard slog by the sounds of it, but I'm pleased for you.2025 Fashion on the ration

Congrats burtha - onwards and upwards
Have a day to myself for once. OH has gone to see MiL but although i was going to go, i have got out of it as we have a new to us sofa being delivered this afternoon. Of course, a day to myself is still one spent cleaning, tidying, cooking and shopping but i will fit in a yoga session and i have time to pace myself in doing all those things.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Hugs and condolences monna.

Monna - sad news but at least they had one last meeting in this life.
burtha - great news.
Here - I weighed myself yesterday - first time for about 6 months - been putting it off as I knew that I had put on weight. Shall we say - I went straight out on an hour long walk!Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Oh, I do sympathize, Florenceem! This year has been the hardest for me to keep my weight down too. Last year not so much, but we've been walking a bit further this week to try to make a difference and get back to where I want to be on the scales. I know I will breathe easier once I lose a bit more and it will have numerous health benefits.2025 Fashion on the ration

Thank you all for your sympathy and words of encouragement. Things here are going much as expected. My poor friend is beyond devastated and I spend hours talking to him and trying to give his mind and emotions a bit of a break from the desolation he feels.
I actually had him laughing today and felt as proud as if I'd won a gold medal.
burtha, well done that girl. I know its not nice to be vindictive, but I couldn't resist punching the air when I saw that 3mw was being made to pay for his arrogant attitude. I don't know why he is bothered, if I remember rightly, his new bit of stuff is well loaded.
Florence, I may well be joining you soon. Not in going out for an hour's walk, have a heart, but in trying to prise naughty fattening treats from my sweaty little fingers.
I will come back when I can, but life isn't in anyway normal just now. Please don't let this thread die again.

What a nice post Florenceem. I am a little worried that Monna is doing everything for her friend. He even calls her in the middle of the night. She is after all over 80. I do hope others will step in as she could become over exhausted.I think we need to pray for her and her friend. This man could become very dependent on her. He does need referring to social services.7

Florenceem I rather like the black shawl even though I love the coloured ones it looks quite sophisticated.Monna if you do get on here today I hope you can. May I suggest you do more listening. He will want to reminisce. Maybe you can remind him of happier times.7
