Morning all.
I confess that I haven't a clue what the E things are that I'm supposed to have mentioned. Can't scroll back to look or I'll be here all day.
Polly, you might be exhausted after Man U's narrow squeak, but I'm in deep depression that Southampton couldn't even beat Brighton. Nothing like losing a local Derby to bring out the black armbands.
I had a lovely Mothering Sunday. The lunch turned out to be, not a sandwich, or even a pizza, which I was half expecting, but a beautiful take-away Sunday Roast Dinner from a local restaurant. There was so much of it that I have enough for today as well. My 8 yo granddaughter brought me a bowl of hyacinths and a card from her and the dog. I felt very spoiled.
Back to reality today and a bit more moving the mess around. I sometimes wonder if this place will ever be finished.
Apart from that the recycling has to be organised because tomorrow is bin day.
Be still my beating heart.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Some people will only love you if you fit in their box. Don't be afraid to disappoint.I believe that friends are quiet angels

What a lovely Mothering Sunday you had monna very well deserved. Lunch today sorted is a bonus. It shocked me your little grandaughter who loved glitter and all things pink is now 8. where do the years go? I love the scent of Hyacinths but discovered a few years ago they seem to give me a headache if I sat near them indoors. I planted the ones I was growing in the dark for spring and those gifted in the garden and have a lovely display each year. You'll probably be able to keep your GDs present for years if you plant it outdoors when it finishes flowering. I know we're under restrictions for now but is there any chance one or both of your boys could clear the gardens for you when the time is right? I've always been very independant but sometimes we have to acknowledge we can't do everything. I doubt you ever ask for much but if the hard stuff was done you get the fun bit when it comes to planting. You have done so much for so many in your life perhaps it's time to accept others helping you.I've always loved your signature and know why you chose that. You too are a quiet angel and deserve an easy to manage garden.I wouldn't worry too much about Southampton they're 14th in the table so well above the relegation zone. All teams have faced a very heavy season packing too many games into a period of time. ManU are still in the Europa League and FA cup along with the Premier League as are other teams. They're playing on average twice a week as are others and some matches mean flying abroad.Players in all teams are picking up injuries and don't have enough recovery time. I was watching Marcus Rashford last night and he wasn't over his last injury. I think the clubs near the top of the table have bigger and better financial resources for physios and treatment and other clubs are limited which puts them at a disadvantage. Hopefully next season things will be more normal and no packed fixture lists. The E Word Grey, Four Legs , Big Ears and a Trunk..The sun is out so I hope everyone gets some. Still a big coat day but a lot brighter.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Polly, you make me blush!
Oh yes, that delightful little toddler is now 8 going on 16. She is absolutely lovely when she is with me, but drives her parents to drink. I hope I will live long enough to see her run her parents ragged as a teenager.
Revenge is sweet.
DS1 lives in the wilds of Cornwall so it's a bit of a trek for him to pop over for a bit of gardening. DS2 has been over a few times and trimmed, mowed and weeded, but the garden really needs more more consistent care. Fortunately there is a frustrated gardener who lives opposite. They rent their house and the landlord has gravelled the garden, so he likes to come over and play in mine. It is lovely, but he won't hear of me paying him, so I can't actually ask him or tell him what I would like him to do. Never mind. I'll get it sorted eventually.
I might have known that you would realise the significance of my signature. Honestly, you have the memory of one of ming's dinners.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Honestly, you have the memory of one of ming's dinners. The less said about Ming's dinners the better.I believe children have an inbuilt be lovely to other people and make up for it at home gene a lot of the time.I've been wondering if your grandson is still coping in this strange time . A year is a very long time. I hope he's been able to keep working with the plants when possible and has managed the education hokey, cokey.I'm trying to think how to solve the problem of the frustrated gardener who longs to garden but doesn't want any payment. He'd probably love to sort out yours especially with better weather hopefully on it's way.I can't remember if I mentioned on this thread that DD1 handed her notice in after all the years in the book trade. She's training with the RHS at home and has exams coming soon she also planning to qualify as a garden designer. She's been practicing on neighbours and friends gardens following the Covid rules and guidance. She's refusing payment at the moment and finds gifts outside her cottage. She grows veg herself but has a freezer full of soups and other meals she makes from the gifts. She was telling me yesterday she'd been making fishcakes , pies etc for the freezer thanks to the fishmonger who leaves her smoked haddock, salmon etc and bits and pieces for her dog.Have you an idea about how your garden(s) could be low maintainance once cleared?Might be worth discussing it with your frustrated gardener. He may be willing to listen to your ideas. Something you've often done is cook or bake for those who've helped you. I've no idea if they both work but homemade goodies are often welcome. If he is missing a garden so much you'll probably be helping him. Gardens are good for mental health and I expect he'd love to get stuck in.I don't set out to make you blush. I remember the early days when you changed your life so bravely. Many of us know how hard it is to pick yourself up and start again so you're not alone.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
