I take a day off and you lot go mad! I know nothing of any elephants. Nor Nessies. I have never seen/heard/spoken to any elephants or Nessies. I have spent the whole day - ever since early Mass, which I never miss - in prayer and silent contemplation.
AND YOU CANNY PROVE THAT I HAVEN'T!:p:p
Oh, so you are now denying ever saying you had an elephant in your freezer? Hmm, very suspicious.......One life - your life - live it!0 -
Ok. Let me check. We have Boxes of Frogs, March Hares, Heffalumps (or is that Winnie the Pooh rather than Discworld?), green stuff that shall not be mentioned, and extinct haggis?
Ah, I've found the garden fence again. I'm hiding until we find out what Monna, Hester and SoftStuff have been up to.
And who's got Nursie?Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
I have a knitting pattern for haggis.....0

I heard my name mentioned. The little curl is right in the middle of my forehead and I am being very very good, just like Mar.
Just to reassure you FBO, Nursie is safely tucked away in GreyQueens cupboard and Henri d'Vac is keeping an uneasy eye on her. Or she was last time I heard.
I would write more but my eyes keep closing. This retirement lark is exhausting.

Oh what a pleasure it is to log in and find a sane and normal thread where things of national pride and importance are debated in a serious and adult fashion, a breath of fresh air in an otherwise frivolous and lightweight world, well done my fellow contributors.....by the way the DUCK is actually Nessie in disguise wearing a tie on beak and a pair of swimming flippers!0

OOOOOO I love duck!!! roasted with tatties. Emmm where exactly was this duck last seen??? Purely because I want to check on it's welfare and give it some crumbs :A:A0

Hello Friends :j
I'm here and incredibly sorry for causing anyone even a moment of worry about meFor the most part I'm ok, and my absence has had some mitigating circumstances. Some may recall my laptop died, well, that never got fixed. And the tablet I was using then decided not to allow me to type anything in... I can type something and see it, but if I hit space or enter it deletes it (the exception to this is facebook, where I can manage to write a message by choosing the autocomplete word and it won't delete it). I'm presently on hubbys work computer and it is a rare occasion indeed when he isn't using that.
Work has also been... difficult. But then if it was fun they'd call it "super happy fun times" not "work" and it probably wouldn't pay. Renovations are continuing on apace, and I hope to have finished by Christmas. Which particular years Christmas it will be is as yet unconfirmed. Though we do have a finished room, the laundry. And a delightful room it is. So if we can get the rest of the house to the standard of the laundry I'd be happy.
I haven't managed to catch up, but noticed mention of the elephant. Frankly his presence here hasn't helped. He made a real mess of the grevilleas and my passion fruit still hasn't recovered. Australia post refused to mail him back, but I found a backpacker desperate to earn a few quid and he promised to lead him back to England directly.
I will at least endeavour to shift my husband from his desk chair once a week, to catch up with you lovely bunch of nutters. In the meantime, I must now dash since we're heading out for a pizza for HRH's birthday. Vegan with ham, good for the lactose intolerant and it confuses the crap out of the waitressSoftstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
I have a knitting pattern for haggis.....
Are you serious CRANKY?? What does said haggis look like? It's astonishing the unlikely knitting and crochet patterns that exist these days
SOFTSTUFF!!! So glad you're fairly ok, but sorry work hasn't been good. Are you still doing about four people's workload? Please take care of yourself. Good luck with the rest of the house. Pleased for you about the laundry room! Happy Birthday to Mr Softstuff. xx0 -
DUCKS, ducks? I'm surrounded by the blighters!!
And unlike other ducks these are nocturnal and sound just like Donald Duck when he laughs.
Anyway shouldn't I be Nanny Ogg as she sings ribald songs about why a hedgehog can never be bu66ered at all!
Cranky, that beats my pattern for a knitted willy.
Softstuff, gald to hear you are ok, you have been missed.
Fuds, I hope you are ok too.
Best laid plans and all that. Captain Hot Stuff came a cropper, it was raining when we arrived home yesterday and he hates getting rained on, so he hurtled along the jetty and hurled himself on to the stern deck. He then sipped straight off the stern deck into the water! Fortunately he had hold of the tiller so only got wet up to his knees but he does have some very dramatic technicolour bruising on his knees.
I have been telling him for weeks that his work shoes aren't safe as they have no grip left on the soles but would he listen of course not.
Because of this he is still in bed, I plugged us in to shore power to boil the kettle and it promptly tripped out, it is sunny enough to boil the kettle on the solar power so I did that, I have flicked the trip switch and gone back on to shore power 3 times now but it trips on the kettle and the toaster, I had an untoasted muffin for breakfast, not terribly appetising.
It will charge my laptop but I need to do a load of washing or 3 CHS's clothes and the bedding need doing and I don't think the solar will power the washing machine though I'm about to find out, with me luck.
Life on the water is never dull!!Chin up, Titus out.0
