Hate to disillusion you monna scientists say we all have the lazy gene. Its just some have the energy and do what they have to in the morning and others like us do not want to get up but have the energy at night.

I'm a night owl now, mainly because of health issues.I do what I can while I can manage, n stuff the rest of it :rotfl:

monna Doing one extra thing every day sounds a great idea. I dusted the landing window ledge just now, and the ornaments on it. I'm really pleased because I kept thinking I must do it, and then forgetting when I got downstairs!

What does everybody do for really tight painful shoulder and neck muscles? I think I've got fibromyalgia now, seeing the doc tomorrow. But I've realised that besides the joint pain, my neck and back is all tight and sore to touch.

Mar, go to ground. Immediately. Warmth, comfort and rest until you get to the doctor. Hopefully he will have some magic for you.
In the meantime, if you can identify where the worst of the pain it sited, rub some Vick into it, (you've got some Vick haven't you? Everybody has Vick in their house.)and if possible wrap it in tinfoil.

    You read it here first.

I tell you, I'm a loss to the medical profession.

OK burtha. You carry on with your running, workouts, dog walking etc. and I'll carry on with my 5minute gentle stroll to the village shop and between us we'll be one healthy, exercised human bean.
    It's the law of averages.
    Don't let me down now.
I plan on you keeping me healthy for a good 10 years yet.

Morning all. So nice to see this thread alive again.

burtha - you wear me out.. I manage a few walks a week, mainly to and from stations and a bit of yoga... It'll do for now though when I finish (everything these days is "when I finish..") i'll step it up a bit.

Mar - would ibuleve or something like that help?

Been doing stuff I get paid for this morning - which makes a change. Now it's back to typing.. I'm out to lunch with a friend so will walk to station and back, which is today's exercise. OH and DS are out at footie tonight so i'll put the hours in then. DD going to meet up with her girlfriend, though personally i'm not convinced about this relationship. Not the same sex aspect but DD just isn't as 'loved up' as someone in a new relationship should be...

Mar I originally used Perskindol gel for many years it's herbal and worked well. It gor to the point it wasn't working any more so I'm now using Voltarol Emugel which is the prescription grade version of Voltarol. Superdoc does it on prescription for dd and myself although I've seen it on Amazon. It helps with the psoriatic and osteo arthritis too.

Keep yourself warm and out of draughts .I even wear a thick cardigan in bed and warm socks in bed . Hot water bottles can help. On flare days only do the absolute minmum you can get away with never try to push through a flare you'll make things worse. Sometimes if all we can do is make it to the fortnightly appointments with Superdoc and do a little shopping it's our limit.

I find the arthritis compression gloves I wear for the arthritis help a lot. I wouldn't be able to ytpe this today without them. The fibro seems to go down my arms in a flare can't bear to touch my elbows and my hands become painful .

If you do get the diagnosis I'll happily answer any questions . It's a quick process when you're assessed amd very obvious to a good rheumotologist. The gold standard med is not available to over 60s not already diagnosed and on it before 60 however that may be different in Scotland . DDs been on it for quite a few years and it's really helped her.

I did start a new version of the poor health thread a while ago with a link to the original however life got in the way. I'm going to go back to it in the next day or so. WCS poppped up there and she had finally retired so no more doing that long drive to work.

I hope the RV is ok following his op. I've been avoiding this thread as every time I posted I seemed to halt the progress re Monnas bungalow!

Now the fencers are coming out to play like mole coming out of hibernation I'm going to catch up on all I've missed . I notice NM has posted and it's a long time since I spoke to her . We were both doing a google street view search for an elusive property in Bolton if I remember rightly.

My beloved Dell aka Triggers broom sadly went beyond repair so I'm trying to get used to a different make snd you'll need to bear with while I figure it out.

    Take care

Just had a quick flip through and oh my goodness Monna has moved and Mars posted a recipe has the world gone mad?

Enjoy your new home Monna. Is there a cat shaped space there? How lovely of Islandmaid, her husband and his friends to help with the move. Not a single heffalump or Mars knitted ark required.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:To be honest Mar I thought it was another of your recipes for a moment. Camphor is supposed to be helpful and I think it's in Vick , There are better options! Twas the wrap in tinfoil which led me astray I saw that before the rest.
