  • My word it's wild and woolly out there today! I walked down to the shops and the wind was blowing so hard there were times when I was being blown across the pavement towards the road when I walked past a gap in the buildings, quite scary! We've just had a huge gust and a 'kerthunk' from the garden and it had blown over garden chairs, the bird table and the heavy wooden cover on the log store. Thankfully nothing broke and I've moved all that could be against the fence and into as much shelter as there is. It's cold out there too, I was back in winter coat, hat and gloves.....swizz I liked the warm bit much better. Hope all of you are OK, particularly down in the far south where there are reports of big power cuts, stay safe xxx.

Sounds nasty Mrs LW. Congrats on the new Grandbabies, you must be so excited.

It's not been too bad here, a bit wet at times but not windy. It seemed strange hanging the washing on the pulley, haven't done that in weeks!

Not a lot of rain here, but the sea breeze overstretched the mark by a considerable distance. If I hadn't had enough natural ballast I could have been blown away.

SO - be only made it once but if you can us marmalade don't see why you couldn't use jam. TBH if you don't like it you won't do it again lol. & If it turns out well you can let us all know ;)
The weather report is for rain over the next few days so thought I might have a baking session but apparently no lemon curd in Liddly so I'll have to nip in to Morry's in the morning. I've got a couple of jars of nut butter that we don't particularly care for so Im going to use it up in some biscuits or flapjacks or something

If you havent used it up yet, OH makes a great chicken satay with nut butter.

Slinky - I did use the nut butters in some cookies - turned out OK and the evidence has been eaten ;)

Morning all - haven't been here in too long. Really busy trying to shape my thesis and all guns blazing for an October completion - but it is galloping towards me.

OH retired on Friday  so it's going to be all change. We went away for the weekend, keeping it low key and hassle free (i'm a poet and....:p) by going to Hampton COurt. As I overheard someone say on our way out "I expected it to be good, but it exceeded my expectations".

Hope all are well, how exciting Mrs LW TWO grand pickles...

Shanks - sorry you are having a rotten time... <<hugs>>
I wanna be in the room where it happens
