Warning if you use contactless payments

You really shouldn't believe everything you are told. Is extremely unlikely someone would keep their car right at the wedge of those bag and then place it onto a contactless reader at the right time to make payment. In your pocket is even more unlikely because the readers are never placed at pocket level.
Also like other have said there is no possible way a previous shopper could have paid for your shopping by contactless.
My purchase was paid for by a contactless card (which i don't have) and the explanation given by the store Manager was that the previous customer paid for it.
It did happen, i have no idea how, only that the explanation i gave is the explanation that was given to me.
If you don't believe it then you wont need to check your bank statements and no need for you to comment here0 -
I stated it because you posted this in July and have just come back now, saying "it happened". Well that's me completely unconvinced anyway.
Am I a troll? Well if you compare my posting record to yours then the evidence does point towards trolling, I'll grant you.
Negative - you can call me sceptical if you want to throw adjectives around. Let me spell it out. I don't believe you. Some proof or, as they say, it didn't happen.
You don't believe it, that is fine then you wont need to check your bank statements0 -

A software glitch it could have been, but i have no idea.
I stated what happened and what i was told0 -
To be fair to the OP if she was told this was what had happened by the store manager why would she not believe it? It may very likely be a software glitch or an issue with the reset mechanisms on the machine. How would the OP know? She is just reporting what she was told.
In her shoes, I would have written to the store and explained what I had been told and got them to comment in writing, ditto my bank.
Or are you all of the opinion she is lying? It doesn't come across that way to me.0 -

I did report it to my bank and they said they would look into it. But how they are going to do that they didn't say.0 -
Thank you.

If the previous customer notices the transaction on their statement and reports this as unauthorised then their bank may investigate and refund them but even if this happens, I doubt if you will hear anything as there is probably nothing tying you directly to the card transaction.0 -
Op - a year ago I queried a £12 mystery payment.
It was traced to a gunshop. The transaction was patently not mine and was reimbursed.
For what it's worth, my bank staff distrust contactless and none of them use it personally.
A similar situation. occurred in a little Waitrose a few months back. I was extracting wallet only to be told I'd already paid. No I hadn't, I said. The proximity wand had waved its naughty self, unbeknownst to me
I, too, am taken aback by the dismissive tone of many replies here.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Well i didn't pay for it.

Well firstly I always check every one one of my bank statements and I do this even on accounts which don't have debit cards so I'm checking that all transactions are correct. So your common makes little sense in relation to my post.
All you know is that you didn't pay for the transaction with one of your cards. The manager then told you that a previous customer had paid for it and you still seem to believe them 100% even though many posters have said this isn't possible. So why would you believe the manager of a supermarket who had no way of knowing what happened. How do you know it wasn't just some kind of glitch and nobody paid for it?.
Like I said you shouldn't believe everything you are told. I never said that this never happened!.0
