Morning,
Beautiful day. Got washing on the line already!
1. Inspired by day of gardening with my students on Friday to clear a bit more of the boarders in my garden! Also put plastic bags over some holly berries to keep the birds away. Hoping to keep them for making Xmas wreaths.
2. Went to bathroom shop to look at options for replacing shower. Person we needed to see was out on a site visit so went on a tour of CS's while we waited for him.
3. Looked at showers. Got cross cos DH kept looking at expensive stuff:mad: Got quote. The only pleasure is that we will have a working shower soon.
4. Wedding.......evening reception at barn in the country. Picture perfect. (Too perfect?). Had a lovely evening with DH work friends.
5. Chatted with DH work colleague who is on maternity leave. Lots of baby talk.
Cannot begin it imagine how much the wedding must have cost:eek: The dress alone was probably the price of a small car:eek: Hope our kids go for something hippy and whole meal in the back garden :rotfl::rotfl: :rotfl:
Frith - I can see a moped would be a solution to Big Sons transport problem, but having driven home through country lanes in pitch blackness, last night, I can understand your reluctance to support the plan. Nice manoeuvring on Ex's side to make himself the hero
Busy day today. Hope to report many pleasures, and look forward to reading all of yours.0 -
Have just been awoken by OH asking me to get the top off a HM jam!!
I can see that way the day is going to go!! 😏
Also HG & HM garden soup
Mucked out people carrier. Looked like a horse had been living in it...
Today repairing mower AGAIN! After two trips to the workshop they haven't sorted in. It's not going back!
May pick apples and juice them.
Prep for next week, as usual."Is it that the future is so uncertain, the present so traumatic that we find the past so secure? " Spike Milligan0 -
Again , I can only give you a hardly touching you hug frith just trust your instincts and maybe just pick your battles if you can. Hopefully as you lead by example your son will hopefully see what's right and what's wrong.
It's been a nice day here, the heavy rain that was forecast didn't really happen. So washings out and in again and ironed.
Cleaned some more in kitchen . Made lentil soup, brownies and apple crumble.
Went to cinema with DD1 to see Victoria and Abdul which we both enjoyed . Only seats left were in front row which was a bit close. She had a voucher so was a cheap date.
Nice helpful chap in phone shop as I will need to cancel soon.
Got a pair of knee high boots which was not what I was actually looking for. However I will be chucking out my current knee high boots as they are leaky and burst and have done good service for 6 years. Went to till and got further discount so they were 25% of original cost. Shoe shopping is such a pain literally! I have wide feet, I have plantar fasciitis feet, my heels always blister and its such a trial to wear them in until they become comfy.
Washed my car ( hangs head in shame )for the first time in 6 months! It was washed the weekend after OH died. Kids helped.
Hung the ghastly velour curtains that were up when we moved in on the line to get freshened. They will be folded up and put in airing cupboard, horrid things.
Time is ticking, still much to be done and house will be totally empty in 20 days! Wah!
Have a good day0 -
Oh KK yous not has to tell about Humane Remains, Softies, Social Workers, and Educationalist! Usual rule of BoP about people that have never worked! Se an unachieveable target and it gets ...
5 BeerMonster was about in house of BoP and has drunk all BoP's wobbleade! Not the thrist time either! Happened again on FryDay night! I just cannot say how ruff I feel about it!
4 Well FryDay wen to see Kingsman2 at the flicks. They've moved the expensive seats to the middle! Still we had free tickets and sat where bums reserve seat not a piece of paper. Well worth the rush. On way we were going to have a slice of cheese on toast from the domino man. Ordered and lass behind counter said £10, for a small pizza! BoP used rule 13. Door is made of glass, watch my backside walk out! Rip Off. AVOID.
3 The we had full BoP Fest of Snorker, best back, grilled toms, mushrooms, fried tates, poached egg. Marmite and crumpet was also wolfed down with fresh squeezed orange juice. Tum was rubbed!
2 Nite BoP is doing fresh salmon with gorilla chips, home mushed peas and fresh parsl;ey sauce!
That brings up the dillies of BoP!0 -
1 A lazy wake up after a very early morning bed time as well.
2 Grilled bacon topped with egg for brunch.
3 We purchased advent calendars in an amazon special last year, and as we haven’t had chocolate for a long time and would like some, there is now an open advent calendar on the side…
4 DH and I pondered out for a local stroll around the quarry behind the house, he walked an animal and I had a bag and boxes for foraging, we swore while picking rosehips, and said oh wow to how sweet the blackberries are. We loaded up with 2.5lbs of rosehips, and 2 boxes of blackberries. Saw a beautiful yellow looking orchid type flower that even google couldn’t help us with. Over 2 hours later we got back in, turned half of the blackberries into a smoothie and each took some painkillers.
5 A very easy bangers, mash and beans for dinner.0 -
1. NSD
2. Watched a film with DD that made me cry - A Monster Calls....knew it would, as the book made me bawl, but it was so beautifully translated into a film, that it was worth it.
3. Exchanging excited allotmenty messages with KW
4. Feeling ready for tomorrow' lessons, having printed plans and one copy of the work for maths out so all I have to do is photocopy in the morning rather than wait for the computer to warm up etc etc.
5. Cuddles with DD. Much needed.
6. Going to put some pennies in my Marmite jar. I think I have shrapnel in my purse that needs to leave.0 -
Thanks, all. He has gone ahead and booked his day's training course so I shall have to drive him there on Sunday. Still not amused.
Pleasures for today:
1) A lie in.
2) Mushrooms and tomatoes on toast for lunch.
3) Went for a long walk during the afternoon and found several geocaches.
4) Read my magazine in the car.
5) Did various jobs before sons came home. So intent on doing all the washing (first time in 17 years!) that I was in my pyjamas by 5.30 so the clothes I had been wearing could go in the washing machine!
6) Smaller son did 1.5 bits of homework. That is 8.5 pieces this week with 1.5 left to do. :-/ Hopefully they will slack off a bit.
7) Tasty cauliflower and macaroni cheese for tea. I buy "Chinese take away" cartons so this was in one of those from the freezer.
8) Got through to a carpenter to give me a quotation (can't afford it, but would be nice to have a total to aim for!) We've had no balustrade for a few months so, if you were not concentrating, you could fall from our landing right down the stairs! I bought the new spindles from Ebay but it is a big job to fit them as 2 newel posts will have to be dropped in and attached to the beams of the floor below...
In bed now and feeling quite organised! Hopefully meeting a friend in Ikea tomorrow then the carpenter is coming round during the evening.0 -
1. Lovely walk to station to pick my car up. Met people I hadn't seen in ages and had a catch up and met their new dog.
2. Went out to a National Trust garden with DH. Had a coffee as we left. It was a very enjoyable morning/ early afternoon. The place was really busy.
3. Home and had lunch in the garden. We then treated the table and chairs with oil.
4. Planted some bulbs and more weeding and also collected cobnuts up. Will be giving the cobnuts as part of a present to my aunt and uncle.
5. DS2 cooked tea. Beef stew with dumplings. Some left over for lunch too.0 -
1) Trip to the farm shop yesterday for some locally grown Cox's apples so delicious!
2) Coffee at the garden centre on the way home and finding some reduced pieces of bread pudding which were swooped on as we both love it.
3) Trip to the big toy shop on the industrial estate produced the Zebra child's lego model he wants for Christmas and also a lovely present for Oreo too and the garden centre produced some stocking presents for them as well, gradually getting there.
4) Good rugby on the TV yesterday afternoon, Exeter Wasps game was well worth the watching!
5) Changed all the bedding yesterday morning and it was all dry and sorted back into the airing cupboard by mid afternoon, love days like that!0 -
Hello , just in from a day in the city.
Call to OHs best friend this morning, they are kindly helping out with my house back home.
Work. Enjoyed. Paid.
Solicitor . To sign will. Spent wages !
Train into city, then train out in a different direction. Short walk and a most interesting and informative afternoon spent at The Jewish Holocaust Centre. Spent a fair bit of time with a wonderful 94 year old survivor who spent almost 2 years living hidden in a cellar in Poland. She is just amazing and it was an absolute honour to meet here and to chat with her.
Train back to city ( just as we arrived at station) and then late lunch/ early tea.
Train home and a seat all the way.0
