It does throw you, but I also think that it's quite nice to see them....
Pleasures for yesterday
1. A little trot up the high street, went to the chazzer and dropped off some books. But also bought a new to me cardi and t shirt
2. Train to Machynlleth for the comedy festival and tickets purchased without fuss, plenty left to see even though we hadn't pre planned
3. Vegetarian lunch at the parsnipship - somewhere I first encountered at Glastonbury a few years ago and have been looking for ever since. It didn't disappoint
4. One iffy show (we accepted it was a work in progress as many are) but under rehearsed and unprofessional is a different matter. Two superb shows worth every penny
5. Sitting around a fire in the growing dusk for an hour or so just chatting and taking it in before the train back.
We liked it so much, we are off again in a minute:T. Enjoy your sunshine all
I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Glad you are having such a lovely day VJsmum
Sunday pleasures so far
1. Lots of pleasures rolled into one - Sunshine, HEAT, clear blue sky, cooling breeze, bees buzzing, birds singing, beautiful scent of wisteria even though the flowers are mostly gone, skin tanning :rotfl: Just the sheer peace of life in the countryside with only the occasional car driving past - ABSOLUTE BLISS:)
2. Selling a few more items :T
3. DH finally sitting down & watching the MotoGP race, having missed Moto2 & Moto3 races.
4. More decluttering done by DH - 13th Tip run on the cards & DSis pottering around & me being lazy :rotfl:
5. Moving my chair back into the sunshine & glorying in the magnificent view :T
Have a great day everyone

just back from church and having quick break after opening all the windows and cleaning the oven. lovely service with the primus followed by shared lunch and the news that we now have 104 candles i.e. £10400 in our lighting collection. excellent news. a slight miscalculation by someone else means we need £14k not the original £10k stated so still a little way to go, but over 2/3 there :-) see ya later xMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Good afternoon from the garden...I don't write that often enough
It's beautiful. I have not done half the things I had intended but have cut the grass, moved some planters, planted my pumpkin seedlings in bigger pots and have dared to leave outside...is it too early?
Lots of washing. Just hung out bedding though shall need to remember to make bed before bedtime.
GN has gone home...in a huff as her mother refused to put her paddling pool up as it's not as warm where they live ...much tearage but a text from DN to say thank you and that she was her happy self again! So much quieter without her.
Nice doggy walk first thing...I did not need the big jumper I was wearing.
Birds and bees in the garden.
Garden furniture cushions brought out and only a bit wet from the leaky shed roof ( double bagged) not damp or smelly though and so much comfier.
Enjoying a cold drink of ice cube schloer ( I have so many bottles from Christmas time when people brought them round and Christmas just feels like a few weeks ago) , with lemonade and fresh strawberries. Very refreshing.
I read a book! ( which is why I haven't done as much as intended) started this morning and really just kept going.
Have sorted out my clothes for my holiday.
Just sitting relaxing in the garden. Not as peaceful as I would like as we are near the main road but can't have it all!0 -
I hadn't seen your post when I wrote ( from the garden..in the sun) skint but I'm happy to see that your dads recovering and laughed at the image of Pup and sniffing! Haggis who was a hot weather boy by birth has obviously acclimatised to the low temperatures here and has not known what to do with himself. Currently lying on kitchen floor which is tiles and must be cooler.0

Pleasures for today (Sunday).
1) A lie in.
2) Smaller son and I went to watch the motor racing locally. It was a bit too hot.
3) Hens well.
4) Did some drying of washing outside.
5) Have spent much of the evening watching television in front of the fan.0 -

What a lovely way to put it VJsmum, that's how I felt and I was very emotional all day. When DF was very poorly in hospital and they had told me and my sister that his organs were failing and he was being prepared for intensive care the man in the bed in the opposite corner of the room started humming the music we played at DM's funeral. I don't normally believe in afterlife but it was such an unusual old song that they danced to when they first met ..... I just really miss her
mhags - our pup enjoys lying on the kitchen floor tiles too and crunching ice cubes
Pleasures for sunday
1. walked puppy before the heat and she enjoyed a run in the park after her ball. She still doesn't bring it back though ! Cue me running after her before she hides it in the long grass !
2. more of the washing mountain done and ironed
3. afternoon snooze.... though I did discover puppy had munched on the patio brolly & stand when I woke up. Cue much green plastic reappearing later in the day from both ends of puppy(sorry TMI)
4. hoovered and cut some more grass around 7pm when it cooled down
5. chocolate brownie ice cream £2 from freezer and home made Chinese rather than a take away.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
House sale OCT 2022 = NOW MORTGAGE FREE 🤗
