Crikey, that is quite a coincidence about the man humming that tune Skint who was it who said that there are more things in heaven and earth....I miss my Mum too and still talk to her in my head every day :heart2:

    Sunday pleasures,

Home so the usual Sunday ritual of bacon butties and the Archers omnibus.

A glorious late spring day so time spent in the garden, it quickly got too hot to work so begrudgingly :rotfl: had to sit in the shade to read.

Little dog curled under my chair and snoring.

Picked up a net of carrots for equine girlie and got them over in time for her tea, stuffed some in her hay net to play lucky dip with.

We are way behind on Woman in White, ie haven’t started watching yet, so decided on a S3 episode of Vera that neither of us had seen.

It's been a long day. Woke up at stupid o'clock after a bad dream. Listened to cough, cough, cough of guest! They came back a day early as he wasn't well. He is still coughing as I type...

    Anyway...
Watched the sunrise& heard the blackbirds before that.

Lovely doggy walk with H & his girls.

    Painted the fence.

Went to M supermarket as we needed some pharmacy advice & our local one was shut.

Bought a few bits & pieces including a folding garden table.

In garden for a while. Sorted through builders quotes & made a decision on one & emailed architect.

Went in for a bit , may have snoozed.

Barbecue for tea. Such a lovely evening. Back to rain tomorrow. So I'm glad I got my fence done.

    Nice long chat with friend.

Soaps then sorted out travel insurance .

Morning.......sitting in the garden with a cup of tea, listening to the birds as I type. Doggy is patrolling the bottom of the garden, in case of foxes.....or cats. :D

    Yesterday

    1. Our National Trust cards arrived at the weekend, so decided our first trip out would be to Shugborough. It was very busy, but we got there early and managed to do the important things like coffee and lunch, just before the crowds!

    2. The weather was beautiful.

    3. Patrick Lichfield’s apartments were open. We spent a long time wandering around. I bet it was fun being invited to one of his parties :rotfl:

    4. Stopped off at IKEA on the way home to return an item, and had free coffee, with our IKEA cards.

    5. Invited to young friends BBQ. Pleasant evening, with no cooking!

Wish I could spend another day in the garden, but work beckons.......

    Have a lovely day :)

Been away for a few days and had a good time.

    1. Had to stop on way to airport to allow some deers to cross the road.

    2. Good journeys there and back.

    3. Weather not great but an enjoyable few days. Relaxed and did some sightseeing.

    4. Watched the French division 2 rugby final on a big screen in a car park. The local team won. It was a great atmosphere.

    5. Back home late Sunday night so yesterday spent in the garden and all washing done and dried on the line.

    Monday pleasures,

Another beautifully warm and sunny day.

It was a BH and roads surprisingly quiet, presume everyone had headed to the coast.

Most of the day spent in the garden, meals taken and cold drinks consumed, little dog was in and out of her doggy paddling pool all day :)

Our garden table and chairs situated not that far from the apple tree where all the bird feeders hang, after an initial shyness they all decided to ignore us and just get on with it. The apple blossom floating down was only sign they had been.

Not switching any lights on as the sun gradually went down, watched yet another old episode of Vera by candlelight and being aware that the bats were circling the house clearing up the wee beasties.
