Pirate Pete thought you had snorkers on a Saturday? Not nails?
Today has stayed mostly dry...apart from when I was almost finished cutting the front lawn so put lawn mower away and then when I was almost finished the back lawn. I'm so over grass cutting already and it's only the start of the season!
Walked out of front door with Haggis this morning at the same time as a bee was there. They collided. Poor thing ( each of them)
Went down to old work this morning for brunch. Kind of been offered a job again but it just doesn't feel right. Nothing definite as it wasn't the manager who asked , her next in command came and said jobs were coming up was I interested.
Bought a couple of pots and a dpdew bedidng plants and sat in garden potting them up with the help of my trusty Labrador. He does like an empty plant pot to run around with.
Started my grass cutting shenanigans. In out in out.
Had an unexpected snooze...its been a while since I've had an afternoon snoozette.
Tea was some leftovers from last nights birthday tea.
Tidied wardrobe. Have a bag to go to charity. Did an ironing and hoovered my bedroom.
Adventurers are back this evening. Our girly week has been nice. Quieter in ways. Tidier in ways. Not that son is noisy and messy but nice to be just the 2 of us. Anyway we have another couple of hours I think ! My dog boy will be happy to see his boy.0 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens well.
3) Took bigger son to work then smaller son to watch his football team.
4) Pizza and garlic bread for tea.
5) Watched Casualty.
A quiet day!0 -
1. Made it to the post office and to return a parcel and collect two more. My local post office is great and my parcels were being looked for as soon as I walked in.
2. Spoke to my sister on the phone. Starting to plan our next day out.
3. Spent some time in the garden between showers and in the greenhouse when it rained.
4. Read a magazine.
5 DS1 appears more or less ok after a crisis.0 -
Good Morning All,
Yesterday
1. Lots of rain, so listed lots of things on the EBay Empire.
2. Charity bag to BHF and popped into Oxfam. Found a picture frame and an Austin Reed dress in my size. :j
3. Popped into the Emporium for a Birthday card. £3  Resisted buying anything else as too expensive.
4. Invited for chilli at friends house. Nice evening. My turn for the wine!
5. Late night, as collected DD from a shift at a posh restaurant. She seemed to have a good night.
Still no sunshine this morning, but not raining, so may get some pots filled and veg planted. Happy Sunday0 -
Pleasures for last two days,
Driving through Fridays horrendous rain, seven hour journey to get here but time passed by listening to a downloaded Ruth Randall mystery and then some Springsteen.
Finally arrived in Cornwall as the sun came out.
Holiday cottage is smashing, renovated from some old stables so a bit of a home from home.
It nestles in a little valley a few miles from Boscastle, the gardens are beautiful, full of Bluebells, Primrose and impressive Camellias.
Saturday was sunny and relatively warm, we went to the local farm shop and ate lunch in the garden overlooking the sea, little dog enjoyed the nibbles passed under the table.
Explored Boscastle, hard to imagine the devastation left after the floods.
Capt S forgot to pack any socks :rotfl: but managed to pick up a pack in the local outdoor stores bargain bin.
Wine, cheese and scrabble but all the fresh air meant we were early to bed.0 -

DfV. You think I should not get the gold speedos!
V Well chewing yesterday with waiting for Grimsby and Ayr. Phew both won, mariners safe and Ayr promoted!
4 Had a woobkeade as well. Then watched UC. Now nothing on that channel for a while!
3 Was at emporium w8rs this morn for shop. Tea was bought.
2 Nites dinner is cottage pie with creamy cheese and chive mash, pan gravy, leeks and cauliflower. Last of the dotted spick and instant lumpy custard as well. Tum shall be rubbed.
Looks like I have no finger nails!0 -
1) The hot water bottle I'm hugging right now!
2) Lilac just coming into bloom on the Cookie walk.
3) A neighbours apple tree across the road in full blush pink blossom at the moment, so pretty.
4) Run through the lanes in the car this morning and seeing new leaves on most of the roadside trees, despite the weather it looks like spring is happening.
5) The smell of hawthorn blossom, takes me back to being small again as we had a huge tree at the bottom of the garden which was my 'den'.

Hello, just going to walk dog then I think it's jammie time!
A dreadful night as I thought son and pal were back last night and they didn't appear at all...and dog vomited big style around 3am...and son and pal still weren't back...
Anyway discovered it's tonight they're due back and panic over.
Started a new book.
Round to mothers. More of the same! There are 26 bags being picked up on Tuesday, so until they go I can't do much else upstairs so we start on the kitchen tomorrow. This is another massive task. My aim is to clear one worktop. Give me strength! She has told my brother and sister I'm throwing everything out around her...there has not been one thing put in a bag that has not been agreed to! My sister has told me she is cheering me from afar...very afar!
Walked to T to sump some recycling. Got 3 X peony corms for 30p each.
Home and just got washing in before rain started but it didn't come to much. Washing almost dry.
Had a tea of veggie sausages, new potatoes, sprouts, cabbage and carrots.
Need to make something for boys when they come in .
Right...doggie walk time.0 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday).
A day of accomplishing things, which is comforting because sometimes I feel things aren't really improving (or getting done) at all!
1) A lie in.
2) Hens well although Marigold is looking peaky now! Perhaps some bug is going to go through all of them. :-/ Gave the pen a good clean out.
3) Lots done round the house - tidying, washing, washing up, stuff put on Freecycle.
4) Bigger son and I started the (massive) job of demolishing the porch. So far we've dismantled the water butt (already gone thanks to Freecycle!), taken down the gutter and rotten fascias, cleared it all out and bigger son has taken all the electrics out.
5) Took the wooden bits from the porch to throw on brother's bonfire (there is always a bonfire under construction) and had a chat with dad.
6) Kept half an eye on activities next door where they cleared their large garden shed, dismantled it and took it away in a trailer. I think their leaving date must be fast approaching ;-)
7) Made a prawn stir fry for tea then fresh rhubarb and yoghurt.
8) Went for an evening check of the hens and did a bit of digging. The seedlings on the kitchen window sill really need to go out.
9) Smaller son decided to put himself to bed early (9.30) instead of hanging on playing the Playstation for as long as possible.
10) Watched Joe Lycett's tour on iplayer whilst sitting in bed with 1 hwb. (Am still in bed with a luke warm hot water bottle but will have to get up to brush my teeth etc).
Plans for tomorrow include picking bigger son up from college at 12.30 (he's so far ahead he's nearly finished for the year so will only have to go in 2 days a week now!), getting the roof off the porch and various other jobs. It is strange to be motivated.0 -
1. Planted potatoes in the garden. Good to finally get most of them in.
2. Cleared some bindweed.
3. Went to London to see Harry Potter film at Royal Albert Hall with both sons, my sister and a friend. It was very good. It makes you really appreciate the music.
4. Late lunch in pub before the film started which was good.
5. Journey home was uneventful and no delays.0
