Happy Monday everyone.
Woke up with such a start this morning, I didn't know where i was or what day it was. Jumped out of bed and then stood there for a bit feeling somewhat disorientated. Quite a weird feeling but have since checked that it definitely is Monday morning!
Recent pleasures:
- Little fella had his operation yesterday. A long day, they arrived just after 7 and finally left, stocked up with meds, about 7.30 last night. He's now got titanium rods through both the bones in his arm to straighten and pull them together, one seemed to be fusing properly but the other was definitely out of line so good they got on with sorting it. He's all plastered up again but because his bones are still growing in due course they will have to remove the rods. He coped very well, he's a brave little chap and never makes a fuss. Very glad it's done and he is now on the mend. He will do his SATS this week but will do today's on Friday and school have arranged for him to do them 1:1 with a teacher to turn his pages and so on and extra time if he gets tired.
- Sister is finally home from hospital with orders to completely rest for the next 3-4 weeks, after which they will do more tests. She is shattered but glad to be home. Her case is so complicated and unusual that her specialist is apparenty going to write a paper on her!
- Finally done my wardrobe swap over and been very ruthless with getting rid of clothes that just don't fit our lifestyle any more. Not much need these days for work suits and shoes with heels too high to walk in now I run around in flat shoes all day. There is now room for things to breathe in my wardrobes and a very healthy pile for the charity shop.
- Just finished Love Lane, the latest Patrick Gale novel, he certainly can create an atmosphere though a bit grim in parts. On to the next on my reading pile.
- Looking forward to our annual ten days in beautiful South Devon, one of our favourite places. Last year it was absolutely boiling in May, this year it seems it will be cooler and possibly damper. Won't bother us iin the least, will just be happy to be there and will take it as it comes.
Have a good Monday, whatever you are up to.

hugs to the wee brave fella @Highdays and to you all - the NHS is a marvellous institution
- (oh good the numbering is back today) a good night's sleep - doggo is perfectly happy sleeping in the kitchen (unlike his late brother who was the reason I remember now that they had to both come upstairs) - he was still sparko when i went down at 7
- wfh - started at 8 and thought good i can finish at 4 followed by so must make sure i finish at 4
- determined to take an hour for lunch so did 30 minutes piano (just one advantage of wfh) - 90 minutes later realised I'll stop at 5 🤣 goodness it was fun though (i don't care beethoven labelled it p, f was far more therapeutic) . lots of great work done, felt like covid days when i would take 2 hour lunch breaks as the norm - must remember that!
- first meeting of new book club at library close to the hospital (so ironic i was wfh) 7 of us, 2 friends, 1 mother and daughter - great chat and we have our book for next month - Red dust road (which is good as will also be my R for my A-Z of books)
- committee meeting at 7:30 - managed to get all done by 8:55 and into mennies for 2nd half - DrM arrived 2 mins before me and got the pints in. good game, home, walked the dog and now in bed

Good morning from a fully charged iPad and the wifi of home!
Sunday…I’m actually struggling to remember what I did in the morning.
I did some work. Printed out my next service and sent off an invoice and tidied my office.
And I did an ironing.
I did cut the grass. And got myself ready to go to CP.
Got there about 2pm and had a walk and then a quiet afternoon.Had a lovely swim.
DD2 and SIL came with The Pup and the dog boys had a good run together. The Pup is obviously much younger but the old boy still thinks he has it in him and gives it his best shot to keep up…then feels it the following day!
Bed with my long hot water bottles!
For Monday…in the land of not much wifi…I was out walking at 5.15am and oh it was just so beautiful and peaceful. Just us. And the most beautiful sky just before sunrise. Truly sets me up for the day. A tad chilly though…gloves were worn on the walk back!
Swim swim.
And then quick shower/hair dry/ gla drags on and home ( via the motorway which I don’t love but I felt like a grown up and did it) and then threw a doggy in the house, gave him his lunch and then went off out for mine!Via the blooming petrol station…with a how much?
Was meeting a friend for lunch. And our other friend who didn’t think she could make it…made it! So lots of chatter.
Dropped 2 bags at charity shop. They have been in the car boot waiting for an opportunity to be down at the far end of town.
Called DD2 and SIL answered…me not expecting a male voice thought I’d dialled the wrong number! I was in the ice cream shop asking what flavour she wanted. So he ended up getting a tub too!
Dropped that off to them. Picked up a dog boy…as they had taken him round to theirs.
And home to feed him his tea ( my life revolves round his mealtimes) and then was out to go and see a friend. So had a lovely 90 minutes with her and a lovely chatter and catch up.
And home…hello doggy, I think it’s bedtime! And I slept through until 6.40am which is very late for me!
We’ve had some overnight rain which is good for the garden but I have 2 loads of washing to do today so if it could stay dry please!
Have a lovely Tuesday

Good morning. Bit dull today but had some nice bright days lately. Not posted lately because nothing much has happened. But that's good news!
Highdays - it sounds as if altogether too much has been happening in your family. It's amazing how brave/ stoical our young ones can be. Hoping the positive progress continues so that you can arrive in Devon free of worries.
So recently…
Some days so warm and sunny that I could sit and sew in the garden. Other days so cold that I had to retrieve some washed-and-put-away winter clothes.
Catching up on my embroidery. I'm now just a month behind!
The garden is looking great. I love this time of year when everything is fresh and new. And I'm not bored yet of daily watering.
Now planning outfits for our annual trip to visit our friends in Spain. At least the weather is more consistent there.
Happy Tuesday everyone

A day of showers and blooming freezing! I actually ended up putting the heating on for a wee while this afternoon! I was so cold and had a friend visiting.
Slept longer than I usually do…not a pleasure as such as I like being up early but I must have been needing it! Be all that swimming in the fresh air 😄
Dropped dog off at DD2 and went to hairdressers. Lovely chatter and I always love getting g my hair washed at hairdressers.Picked up a doggy and round we came to the freezing cold house!
Friend came round so nice chatter with her.
Sun did come out and my washing did dry but think that was probably the blooming wind blowing 🤣
