Evening all
Frith, you are incredibly strong and a wonderful mum. Going back a couple of pages, I'm glad people notice your kindnesses and give you free cake. (W'rose seem to be good like that. I was the recipient of an in-store, much-appreciated, free bunch of flowers from them in my first trip out soon after the first covid lockdown ended.) Hope more treatsy freebies come your way.
Five pleasures from the past few days:
1) Stopped off to see DS1 yesterday afternoon on my way home - ended up chatting for much longer than intended.
2) The huge smiles of Nazanin Z-R and Anoosheh Ashoori and their nearest and dearest. I pray these events bode well for others not yet released.
3) Linda McC sausage sandwich for supper.
4) An exceptionally long nap this afternoon. Don't feel particularly well so I was happy to give in to tiredness.
5) Ordered two new pairs of glasses, courtesy of NHS voucher. Both near and distance vision have changed. Thank you NHS.
Sweet dreams,
B x

hello everyone, can't remember yesterday cept it ended in a very noisy pub with the (now ex) barmaid who fancies Dr M - Luton did win 4 - 0 - was very happy to walk home (with Dr M since you ask) and back to the quiet of my house. i was very tired. Dr M said he didn't think he'd make it to the Leicester game. But today....
1) everything i touched turned to gold as in amazing day, doesn't happen every day but so lovely to appreciate it when it does. top mse marks for the humble cheese sarnie - didn't have long to grab lunch and it was lovely
2 finished work at 5:30, trotted down the pub hoping i could get leicester match on somewhere. v. surprised Dr M was already there and had managed somehow to get a seat for the 2 of us and the game in the front parlour (st patricks so heaving) - he'd messaged me but i hadn't noticed d'oh and said he hoped i'd have messaged him if it had been the other way round
3) uni ceilidh band arrived at 6 - they were absolutely brilliant - slightly surreal watching Leicester in a Scottish pub with Irish music
4) 2nd round mine - who should be at the bar (struggling to get served) but the Principal. I got him served then (knowing he's a Leicester fan) asked if he'd like to join us. We were already squashed on the side bench - sat him other side of Dr M, meant i has to squash up to Dr M 😋 introduced Dr M and he and the Principal had a good chat about the Botanic Gardens and the arrival of the Eden Project. Dr M had been wanting to meet the Principal, job doneDr M and I are now planning more informal meets (for the good of the uni of course)
5) walked home with Dr M, lovely almost full moon, Dr M was going home to pizza and I had a fried egg sarnie yum

Good morning. Back to glorious days again. Long may it last.
Frith - can't bear the thought that you're going to have to start fighting for son all over again. He's really done so well at college. What do they say? What do their students usually go on to do next? It's so frustrating for you.
DH is making good progress, though still having to see the practice nurse weekly until the wound is properly sorted out. I need to get back to some sort of normal now. Everything, esp housework, has slipped somewhat. Never a favourite job anyway, tbh.
But that won't be today, because today is the first trip of the year to the caravan. So pleased be able go to back. Little bedroom is full of boxes and bags so very soon we'll be packing the car and off!
Happy 🌞day everyone8 -
Enjoy your weekend away HappyCas.
For yesterday,
Waking up to sunshine after heavy rain the day before.
The full moon, setting first thing in the morning and then rising again in the evening, illuminating the beech trees as below.
Trip out to post office, no queue and cheery person behind the counter.
Fun in the sun with my girlie, bit of gentle exercise and a good groom.
Feta and spinach tart for tea.

5 pleasures for me for yesterday.
1) Much sunnier day then the day before which was grey and overcast.
2) Continuing to read my ebook at lunch break which I borrowed from my local library's app and almost finished it - the fourth in the series of books I'm reading.
3) Did my cycling class at the gym even though I almost bailed - was a spin class but the music had changed so was much more enjoyable last night than the previous few weeks.
4) Really healthy lunch of chicken and lettuce sandwich with healthy portions of celery, cucumber, tomatoes and fruit on the side.
5) Listening to my favourite music at home later on at night.
BONUS one: Was Friday Eve as well10 -

It’s been a beautiful day here. Warm when in sun ( cooler wind out of sun) but a lovely blue sky.In at work for an hour this morning. Then straight down to optician to pick up new specs. A modern day miracle 😀 I can now see again! Distance sight had changed so I wasn’t seeing as clearly as I’d always had so when I came out and it was such a bright day every thing seemed to be of sparklingly clarity!Popped into nearby charity shop. Saw a book I fancied so ended up choosing four hardbacks for a pound which I’ll redonate once I’ve read them.
Home for a while then walked round to mums. Felt like I spent half of the time on hold ‘ all our advisers are busy right now’ but a few things sorted out.Walked back enjoyed springiness of the day , birds singing, buds popping, flowers in gardens, blossom on trees. Lovely.Planted the six trees I’d bought very RTC.Washing out and almost dry.Started first book. I much prefer a real book to an ebook.Company of my doggy ( though he has forsaken me for DD2)12
