Hello. Bedtime here, been a full on kind of day but the big workety work days are done. Hurrah!Up early. Not raining at that point. I love being up and about in the early morning when it’s just light and it’s just me and my doggy and the birdies. Everything looking so lush and green...that’ll be the rain we’ve had...how about some warmth?Work. First day in new role. Had a good day. But oooft it was busy. Okay tips. Stayed on after work to do some display work.
Home. Hello doggy. DD2 had slipped on the stairs. So she’d phoned in tears...me ( mother of the year!) do you need me to come home? No? Well I’ll see you when I get in! She’s achy but okay.Got some lovely very RTC flowers. Yellow and white roses...and some very reduced apple pies!Driving home and everything just so vibrant and green (particularly the beech hedges)Chat with son on phone...32 minutes, almost a record!12 -
For yesterday
1 An ebay item was picked up and paid for, money squirrelled. With 3 big items sold, the next items are now waiting for me to write them up, one is a large ferplast travel cage, and two caravan awnings, neither of us particularly like de cluttering but doing it does show results. And it really is things that have just sat there are they aren’t quite right for what was needed in the end or what we did changed etc.
2 I cooked a pork joint, DH’s favourite, I know it’s not much but I hope it helps the mindset a little.
3 Watching the daft Sherlock Gnomes…
4 Leftover scone and cream with fresh leftover strawberries
For today.
1 Piled us into a car with 2 animals and a flask of soup.
2 Pointed us to the coast and went for walk certainly blew the cobwebs away.
3 Fish and chips for tea eaten in the car watching the birds on the beach and the rnli practicing.
4 Home to a warm animal welcome, but our few hours away were very needed.

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Smaller son refused to go to college (again) and got in a repetitive swearing loop. I went out in the end (after talking to him then hoovering for long enough that he wouldn't go back to sleep!). Went to local town to look at an exhibition. It is part of what I used to do for a job (in fact, the exhibition is where I worked for 10 years) and there are various "rules" to follow, which they hadn't at all, which has annoyed me all day! They plonked a children's table in the middle of the exhibition with some laminated leaves hanging down (?) where they could have had pens and paper or something interactive. No folder of the panels printed out for people who are unable to stand and read the panels or who might have just wanted to sit down and have a re-read. The whole place has steadily been defunded over the years. Nothing was being operated by staff members and there was no paper or crayons for the brass rubbings and the flow of the place now makes no sense at all. It rained constantly.
4) Went back to do housework and make lunch.
5) Went to the local National Trust place after lunch where I was given almost a hero's welcome by the lady at the front and the new young man in the cafe! Very quiet. Found one geocache.
6) Made chicken for tea with roast veg and corn on the cob and received a thank you for that. Then did poached pears with a fudge sauce.
7) Bigger son wanted to do a Zoom call with the cats so I sorted that out while they were having their tea. He has been doing up his room at work so bought a double bed today (he is now the boyfriend of one of the young women working there) and bought Amazon prime!9 -

Bala - sorry I didn't read yesterday.
I would say PALS is the best way to go. It means care is looked at and a reply is formulated. Things tend to get done with PALS involved.
Please also stress to everyone involved about the confusion and your Dad has never been confused before. It is easy to assume that there is no change in confusion etc. Also the difficulty he has in walking now. Please let them know if all those sort of changes and mention to each Doctor, nurse , physio or whoever.
1. New fridge freezer arrived. Inside looks really organized now.
2. Gammon for tea which was good.
3. Long chat with DS1 on the phone
4. FaceTime a friend.
5. Chat with neighbour13 -
For yesterday,
Food shopping done, no love or hate it spread this week so glad I got some last week.
Washed the dog bedding and despite dark clouds got it dried outside.
Cream and pink candles on the chestnut trees, lilac in bloom and laburnum as well, all on the way to the yard.
Hello horse, how are you, muddy Mum!
Treat of salmon en croute for tea with jersey royals and broccoli spears.

Good afternoon
Bala - hope today is running more smoothly. And sensibly.
Yesterday I got two loads of washing washed, dried and ironed. A bit of a surprise in the recent weather. Back to showers today though.
Second yoga session. A bit more challenging this week but I was pleased I managed quite well. Week off next week for bank holiday.
Supermarket today, followed by coffee and cake, sitting inside with real cups. A treat.
Bought some very reduced shorts from M+S outlet. Now we will have to book a holiday!
Happy Tuesday everyone11 -
Bala, thinking of you all.
1 I wasn’t to well this morning, one of the worst headaches I’ve ever had, took the strong painkillers and went back to bed for the morning. A pleasure it’s passed and I was able to let it.
2 Got on with hoovering the whole house and several loads of washing.
3 I didn’t plan for food tonight, ops, so did chicken kiev, with a pesto pasta with veg cooked in, basically leftovers from the fridge.
4 Bird food and feeders re stocked I swear they watch.
5 We are a bit desperate for new wider tubes, as our ill ferret has gained a lot of weight, thanks to the steroids, last night he had a paddy that he couldn’t fit in the tubes, he used them to get up and down the stairs, yes they also sleep in a box of fleece under our bed and I love his little snores. I asked on freegle for offcuts of plumbing etc, I didn’t get offers but I did get an offer from a local online pet place who sent us a voucher which makes the tubes affordable, so I have taken them up on their kind offer and they will be delivered in a few days.

been a very long day. dd2's dissertation deadline is midnight tonight!!! I haven't left the house, not for dog walks (sorry boys), not for my C25K run, not for a drink with the lads (including Dr No) as tea / cuddles / moral support needed. So I was worried I wouldn’t think of 5 mse good things, and yet…
1) unblocking the shower - was worried i'd have to get a plumber in cos the plunger was having no success - then at last a hair clog the size of a small mouse!!!
2) hm soup and salad for lunch - determined to lose lockdown 3 weight (lockdown 1 & 2 went sooo much better!)
3) knocking down wasp nest #2 - poor queen tried again, size of a small hen's egg, so beautifully made but not welcome on my back porch
4) watching a pigeon balancing on one leg and shaking the freshly filled birdfeeder then pecking up the spilled seed
5) hearing dd2 say those magic words 'it's submitted' yay. And still 64 minutes to go roflMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Went to the museum I had been helping out with paperwork. I had won chocolates in the volunteer's raffle! Also booked a meeting with the manager to try and get their paperwork finished. A new man on the front desk heard the village that I live in and (randomly) said, "Oh, there is a ROC post there" (cold war bunker). I don't think he expected me to know that, or to have been down it, or to direct him to look at our video of it on bigger son's youtube channel!
4) Picked smaller son up from college at 12. Popped in to Tesco.
5) A busy afternoon dealing with bees! There were lots in the house (and looking mournfully at me through the glass in the front door). Phoned my dad and my brother as they keep bees. Of course, all bees had gone by the time they had got here. Thought nothing more of it, weeded the garden and tidied up outside for an hour or so. Went back in the house and the air was thick with bees with loud buzzing from just above the stove. Went back outside and they were streaming in and out through the ventilation pipe into the brick chimney. I didn't want the swarm to settle there so eventually lit the stove. Only 2 have got into the room since then so hopefully they were uncomfortable enough that they have all left.
6) Uphill neighbour read my "watch out for bees!" sign that I left on the pavement so we had a chat. He is moving out on Friday and gave me a huge strawberry planter.
7) Watched Holby City.10
