The ceiling stalactites were over fermenting damson wine...
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Worked on fact sheets for the church in the next village, using info from my dissertation.
3) Made a very large shepherds pie (all gone!) plus a crumble for tea.
4) Bigger son and I just went for a walk/bike ride.
5) Will attempt to watch Great British Sewing Bee though my laptop has decided it will only play sound for stuff that is live.

Hello everyone i'm a newby positing here, but i've read this thread for years now and i feel like some written appreciation of the simple things in my days would help me psychologically at the mo ! So here goes ...
5 simple pleasures from my day yesterday :
1. A lovely catch up with an old colleague who reassured me that i was looking "bloomin gorgeous" (i'm currently 8 n a half months pregnant!) And i actually believed her !
2. A sunny walk to town to pick up a delicious baguette (i live in France FYI !) and some sneaky marshmallows with the children, who behaved wonderfully and spoke politely to the shop lady, and made me feel like a super mummy.
3. Washing hung outside for the first time in days.
4. Friend brought some mega cute excellent condition used baby clothes round. Now DH just needs to build the shelving unit so i can tidy all the clothes away!
5. Lovely bedtime snuggles with both children who were exhausted after a busy day, and both fell straight to sleep at 8pm leaving us time to read our books in blissful silence.
What a wonderful life i have. It really is about the little things in life. Tomorrow is about big things (well, today actually ; thanks pregnancy insomnia!) Appointment with the doc to see if naughty breech baby has turned around (she hasnt im sure of it), if not maybe booking in a csection in 2 weeks booooo ! Have tried everything, acupuncture, osteopathy, visualisation, DH verbally encouraging her through my belly (lolz), crawling around on all fours etc etc nowt to be done, she's sitting put.15 -
Welcome PommeVerte
1. Work - enjoyed the morning- I saw 4 patients the most I've seen in a day since lockdown. Would normally see between 10 and 12 in a morning.
Afternoon was back to filling time by doing on line training that isn't due til August.
2. Had a walk before work and only got slightly damp.
3. DS2 cooked tea and enough left for my lunch.
4. Long conversation with DS1 - he is going to do a few hours work for a friend - unpaid but will be fed! It will give him something to do and makes him feel useful and I said it will look good on a CV.It
5. Enjoying my book - joined online book club for recommendations rather than all reading a book and discussing.12 -
Thinking of you today DD x
Welcome PommeVert.
For yesterday,
It rained....all day....great for the garden.
Cosy morning in kitchen, made soup from leftover chicken, a loaf for us and a Oat & Honey soda bread as a gift for...
DN and her hubbie dropped in with some bits for me, due to the rain the garden was a no so they stood at one end of the kitchen, we stood at the other and all had a darn good catch up. So good to see their lovely faces.
DN trying to teach small dog to give her paw in exchange for a treat, it’s something she has always refused to do and being 9 years old now it’s true what you say about old dogs.
More comfort food, this time Macaroni Cheese for tea.

3 our NHS again ,it’s official DH has now lived / survived much longer than the most optimistic prediction ,they keep turning up and coping .
4 supportive friends
5 our son ,who came on Saturday, probably wasn’t supposed to but GP thought he ought to

Welcome, Pommeverte. Smaller son turned the right way himself at 36 weeks. It didn’t hurt, but believe me, you’ll know if it happens! It happened as I took a big step to cross a steam railway line. (I was turned the right way by doctors, but turned back the wrong way as my mum walked back to the car...)
I hope today goes as smoothly as possible, DD.
Good to hear from you, SuffolkSue.14 -
Cat in a bowl!
Previous Moggie, Monty. Ex of BoP's Pad. He had thunder paws and was replaced by Raffles in 2014. Both came from the Cat Detections! He was a nibbler!
Well come to the Green Apple! Now all we needs is some crumble and custard to share!
DD Now I is a temporary Hatter, one hopes I don't meet Alice! And we finished above the Rusted Nails as well!
& Use thye notepad to right your ditty and copy into the parish, or just dictate to BoiP and I will ...
Yours BoPshere for this day!
Started the Das Boot last nite. Good series and does reflect the anguish of service. The bar scenes are realistic, but not fors the likes of sparra, wherever she bee! I got a lot about the French form an ex work colleague. Wobbelades and cheeses were consumed.
Had second round of mackerel kedgeree last night with the shrimps and bits. Right tasty and good for you. Raffles was a bit wandering whether it was for him. No! We had some new treats for him which he was more than happy with. His treat tin when it moves does make he happy.
This day I is watching again the Aussies being hit for six. I wander if Broad will gets a fifty? Ooops, no, clean bowled again. Thinks he will gets better!
Filled motor, second time since March, ready for the corner shop run tomorrow! Time has come, details soonest! Think next BoP Tour is a while off just yet!
Well, bits lates fors mes elevenses, so tea is here, biscuit covered inn chocolate and that is all for the day! Jenny gives her Bumps to all
Where does it actually pitch!

Thinking of you today DD - hope you are OK. I suspect you are right about the corrections - doesn't help with me not wanting to do them though
Hugs Sue
Blimey Frith - what a bloodbath!
HI Pommesverte - this is the best thread on MSE
Pleasures for Tuesday
1. Reading a careers book to deal with my corrections - that is not a pleasure but the pleasure is that i could see that i have gone beyond this rather basic book..
2. Met my friend in the park for a stroll and a picnic - we chatted for 3 hours!
3. Drove the car for only the second time since lockdown and this time quite a way. It was nice to just saunter along with the radio on.. feels like a while since i could just listen to the radio.
4. OH and i watched a film - Mr Pip. It was going to be my family film night choice but i am glad it wasn't as i don't think the kids would have got on well with it - though we liked it.
5. Caught up with the washing
ANd Yesterday
1. Went to get a cupboard for our micro camper - it fits into the recess of a back (boot) window and will be useful storage when we eventually get to use it as a camper
2. As we'd gone a little way to get it, we made the most of the journey by going for a walk in different countryside and where there are hills. we had a lovely day.
3. Had a bath when i got back and watched long lost family - foundlings...
4. third day with no gin 'sundowners' - this is a pleasure as i was worried about the habit (not the quantity as such as i only had one a night - though it was a double) but haven't especially missed it.
5. OH, DS and i finished watching White Lines on Netflix - i wouldn't really recommend it as it got worse and worse and worse but we became to immersed to stop. that's 10 hours we won't get back. the pleasure is in finishing it.
Hope everyone has a good day - i was supposed to be doing run 2 of week 1, couch to 5k. However my ankles already hurt so i am not sure that running is good for me... i will let them heal and have another go next week with different shoes before i give it up as a bad job.
I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Hello. Not been feeling very well last week ( new ( though been on before and know the side effects) medication with horrid start up side effects) and not done anything much worthy of posting and then usually in bed feeling yukky at the time I’d usually post
anyway. Yesterday was the first day I’d felt slightly energetic. Went out a drive with DD2 and we sat at the beach for a bit. Just breathing in some fresh air.Helped mum with some money saving. Sorted out her house insurance and energy bill.Much, much rain. Just got home in time as it was starting. I like watching it fall on the garden and giving everything a good drink.Companionship of my doggy.
chats with friends on phone/text.
Have been reading all your pleasures and glad we have a safe space to share them.Sue all sorts of thoughts of love, courage and calmness being sent to you and your husband. Tell him he’s a superstar...defying the expectations of his team!14
