Hello. Just had a very yummy pasta for tea. Whatever was in fridge & some past it’s best by cream but tasted and smelled fine so in it went.
Went to allotment this morning for a couple of hours. Weeded. Seeded . Watered . Sat and enjoyed the sounds. Lots of lambs on way down and squirrels on the last hilly path down (‘tis all blooming hills! )
popped round to mums. Sat in garden and chattered. Acquired an old piece of trellis that needs painting and a couple of cornflower plants.Sat in my own garden then came in to make tea13 -
Absolutely beautiful day here so made the most of it and spent much of the day in the garden.
Pleasures included.
1. Mr M finished his job list and then declared he wants to go back to work for a rest...think I’d better give him a few days off.
2. Book swapsies with neighbour, I left a few I have finished on her doorstep yesterday and she returned the favour today. So some new reading material to get stuck in to.
3. Cheese scones made to have with tomorrow’s lunch....might have tested one and then another just to be sure they were good.
4. Early walk with pooches before it got to hot.
5. Long soak in the bath with candles and a glass of wine....lovelyWell Behaved women seldom make history
Early retirement goal... 2026

1) HIIT on my teambodyproject today. Certainly worked up a sweat! Shower was lovely (though have discovered a couple of muscles i didn't know i had as the day wore on!)
2) the butcher's bacon is fab. Sad now i only got 8 rashers in my order
3) made a yellow split pea curried soup for lunch. meetings got a bit out of hand so by the time i made it down for lunch at 2 it had reduced rather so had curry instead
4) took the bodhran out for the 8pm clap. An Irish Bodhran played by an English lassie to a Scottish piper up the road on St George's Day. and why not?!
5) listening to albums from my youth having been challenged to post 10 album covers on book of the face. Currently listening to Selling England by the Pound. Earlier it was Lou Reed's Berlin - hadn't forgotten how deliciously depressing that album is.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) A lie in.
2) Did a few jobs outside including splitting more plants. Bigger son glued and clamped one of the garden chairs together again.
3) Bigger son cycled 50miles.
4) Very tasty sweet and sour for tea.
5) Played badminton and tennis.
6) Joined in the clapping but it was quieter this week. Only 2 families that I can see and a car drove through in the middle of it, so I couldn't see them and was clapping on my own!
7) Did the Virtual Pub Quiz.
8) Watched Russell Howard's live tour thing.
Had my brother messaging again as the hoarding situation has got very bad. (To be fair, this is normal, but it seems more... sort of distasteful when other people are trying to get hold of/afford food). 33 bags and 2 of the large plastic delivery trays arrived earlier in the week. My brother had a go at me because he thought I had added loads of stuff to mum's order - in fact I had added shampoo and conditioner, cat food sachets and oat milk. Today another ginormous order arrived plus mum decided to drive off to buy potatoes - 20 miles away. She is taking stuff from the deep freezers (she has 3) and leaving it on the step to defrost before binning it. The freezers are full as are the 2 fridges. The cupboards are full plus what used to be the airing cupboard (now an enormous floor to ceiling walk in cupboard). It can't be the alcohol driving all this behaviour.

For yesterday,
Nice long chat with yard owner and her DM who lives with her, all sorts of topics and good to have some social interaction.
The beautiful grey one was a bucking, bronking devil in the lunge pen, it’s down to spring grass plus lack of ridden work although she is out in paddock all day.
Spoke to my eldest Uncle, it would have been my darling M&D’s 60th WA and he shared memories of the day.
Made a macaroni cheese for tea with enough lo for lunch today.
Misses the 8pm as having another long chat, this time with my DB, he works for a company that supplies garden furniture, games and the like, he is so busy.15 -
1. No more work til Monday- mentioned to my boss that I felt we should be doing more as a department but she doesn't!
2. DS1 cooked wild garlic and cheese scones- he doesn't cook other than reheating stuff or cooking pizza. They were lovely.
3. Hearing DS1 laughing while he did the pub quiz.
4. Made a fish pie and plenty left to freeze for easy meals.
5. Clapped at 8 and then long chat with neighbours two houses up that hadn't really spoken to since lockdown.12 -
Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday.....
Finally did my mending. Fixed the fastener on a pair of work trousers and sewed a hole in a t-shirt. Not even difficult things, just stuff that takes ages to get around to.
Did some exercises with the HT. He's into sit ups at the moment. I'm not sure if he's impressed or just plain surprised that I can do them too.
Best friend sent me a photo of the plant that has grown from a bulb that I have him. I bought us one each. His is doing way better than mine
I was sitting quietly thinking about this house yesterday. We feel happy here and it gives us a feeling of security too. Both important so feeling lucky that we live where we do.
Photo of my great nephew from my sister. He's so cute but he has the same type of hair as the HT. It grows straight up from his head.
Lainey I'm jealous of your baby bunnies. We just have fat moggies on our grass. One grumpy grey posh one of ours and the rescue one from over the back that likes our garden better than her own.
Take care all of you15 -
Art'noon all
Frith - so sorry you have the worry of your mum. Is there a GP you can talk to?
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Last supervision - it went ok. I still have things to resolve but should be fine for hand in. I am aiming for Wednesday, in case the technology bu88ers it up. Then i'd have Thursday to get it sorted. Also there's something quite nice about handing in early. Even if it is only one day... I can't believe i am nearly at submission stage... All those times i walked to the uni for supervisions, dreading them, walking back devastated and wanting to quit.
2. Walked to the shops with OH in the morning.. beautiful and warm and only us in the butchers so we had a chat (he was behind the counter)
3. Ordered material to make masks. DD is going to do some practice ones with old scraps of material but we thought we'd buy cheerier stuff to use properly. I know the jury is out on masks but have a feeling that it will be a condition of being let out - especially on public transport which we use a lot.
4. OH made kedgeree for tea - it was lish but i think i'm the only one who thought so. There's leftovers for me to have tonight also.
5. Clapped and pan bashed for the NHS - there were far more people than usual in our neck of the woods.
Have a nice day all - i'm going to wrestle with my last two chapters.I wanna be in the room where it happens14 -
Must be such a good feeling to be on the home straight VJSMum!10
