Good afternoon all, pleasures for yesterday....
Exercising with the HT. We did sit ups again.
My sore knee feels better. Every time I have an injury I worry that it will be permanent. Some of the things that I've done to myself have taken a long time to recover from but so far I've been lucky and apart from the bad scar and some swelling in the scarred leg (fell down five stairs) I'm still mobile and it looks like I will be able to go running again at some point.
The HT made cheeseburger and chips for dinner. He's 15 and has very little interest in food but I've told him that he needs to learn now or he'll have to live on Maccies when he's older. He doesn't like takeaway stuff much so he's said that he will pay more attention to what goes on in our kitchen.
Next door neighbour's brother/cousin/nephew/who knows appeared to measure up the bit of my garden that needs a new fence. It's not my fence that's fallen down but the people that it belongs to are showing no signs of fixing it. The new fence will be on my land and the bit of their fence that is still standing will be left untouched. The person who came to measure up will be building the new one.
Quiz night with my school friends. We talk and laugh that much that it takes 3 hours to be asked 40 questions and go through the answers but it's a lot of fun and for the people that are staying in on their own it's company of a sort.
Take care all of you

Pleasures for yesterday.
No cleaning left to do other than the daily wipe around and nothing left to do in the garden, so had a completely selfish me day..... which involved lots of pleasures.
1. Foot spa out and home manicure and pedicure done.
2. Laid sunbathing ...alternatively snoozing and reading.
3. Bath, lots of bubbles a candle and a glass of wine...stayed in. To long and came out all prune like.
4. Movie night, watched The Nightingale...enjoyed it a tear at the end.
5. Wine for me, beer for Mr. M....music and putting the world to rights and then to bed.
Todays pleasures.
1. A lie in and a lovely cuppa tea in bed courtesy of Mr M
2. Long chat with parents and DD’s, all well and in good spirits.
3. Confused look on dogs face priceless as a pair of fat pigeons were erm making baby fat pigeons. Pooch decided none of them shenanigans In my garden and chased them off.
4. Roast pork with apple stuffing and all the trimmings on the go.
5. Strawberries and cream later and probably try and find something to watch on TVWell Behaved women seldom make history
Early retirement goal... 2026

Art'noon all
Just finalising the last few thesis 'bits' - this will take a coupla days - checking references are correct, tables are in numerical order, no clangers ... and an abstract to tart up. i was going to take today off but it's worth pushing on as i might even get it finished a day early. I am remarkably chilled about it all - not sure when it all comes crashing down, but i expect i'll let you know..
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Worked in the conservatory for a change of scene - till it got too hot and then too noisy (i.e. when the kids got up)
2. out for a walk with OH, we did about an hour and a half across the fields.
3. Virtual pub - three way zoom...
4. tea was freezer suprise - cos someone left the door slightly ajar. OH and i split a chicken curry and a french country casserole, unusual but it worked.
5. As we had a bag of defrosted raspberries he made raspberry, pear and apple crumble.
Have a good afternoon / evening folks.I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
1 Spent the whole day gardening, and I know in these times we are privileged to be able to spend time in the garden, weeding and preparing soil for more plants, happy to prepare soil, just a bit sick of weeding, it’s the 4th day both dh and I have been tackling the garden and I think we are both ready to say it is what it is, oh and I’ll need to mow the lawn tomorrow hopefully before the rain arrives.
2 Brekkie was a grilled bacon roll, and dinner will be sausage, poached egg, beans and chips.
3 The animals supervised with all of the gardening, and we then gave them treats, trimmed their claws and treated all of their ears, their maintenance.
4 I’ve been looking at hotel choc for DH's birthday, but I’m going to order from a local chocolate place tonight, supporting local, costs less but hoping for quality.
5 Pleasure to be looking forward to a soak, and continuing to read a Neil Gaimen book I’ve got into.

Hello. Another week done. In this weird world we are now in, when much of it seems normal ( as I live fairly quietly anyway) but much of it seems so wrong. That so many have died in such a short time and almost the daily notification seems complacent when it absolutely shouldn’t be. And that people aren’t allowed to be with their loved ones as they die and that people cannot have the closure of a funeral they would choose.Up early and over the field with the doggy. As sun was rising it was reflected on the side of the mountains in the distance. Some days it seems within touching distance. Returned home and dog promptly vomited on the front lawn! Oh. I wasn’t expecting that!Pottered around. Much cooler today. Chatted to sister on phone.
Had a lovely chat with DD1. She makes me laugh. I told her I didn’t like the bamboo toothbrush (we’d both got one the other week) . I don’t like the feel of the wood in my mouth nor the bristles ( feel like I’m using a paintbrush) then she told me she’d actually got a splinter in her mouth from using one before and the way she said made me hoot with laughter. Anyway...brush is now relegated to cleaning hard to reach bits!Made an attempt at cleaning the oven which I’m ashamed to say was a tad manky. I’d spilled oil in it the other week and it had smoked every time oven was on and had then gone rather grotty, anyway it’s cleaner than it was and a note to self to keep it that way!Walked round to the mothers who was sound asleep ( I did check!) and did not hear me Hoover nor clean and tidy, left a note and will pop back round tomorrow. There was no point waking her up.Met friends on way there and had a chat from a suitable distance!Made a nice tea ( apart from the dry chicken as I used the oven i don’t normally use and everything else was fine but the chicken was overcooked! )
Trying hard to watch Masterchef Australia . Connection can be a bit dodgy.VJSMUM ...so close! How long does it all take to be dealt with ?14 -
MHags - bamboo toothbrushes (with names embossed and rainbow bristles) were stocking fillers I was secretly pleased with. Smaller son couldn't tolerate the texture at all!
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A lie in.
2) No hens anymore :-( but I did get to see my sister, at a distance, when I dropped off the layers pellets and bedding that we can no longer use. The herbs I split up for her the other week have all taken successfully - even the sorrel and bay that looked a bit dicey.
3) Walked to the next village and back with bigger son (who was on his bike). Used a footpath I hadn't before, and won't again! So many are unmarked and overgrown. I did one of those spectacular falling overs, where it looks as though you will be seriously injured but in fact you jump up again and are completely fine. While I was lying on the floor, bigger son was asking if I had broken my ankle, so it must have looked good!
4) A quick but favourite tea - salmon baked in the oven, flaked into pasta then peas and mayonnaise mixed in.
5) Played the piano a bit.

Well done vjsmum I assume it can all be electronically submitted. Mine was soft bound at this stage but we’re going back 11 years.we’re doing online vivas too at the moment
1) very moving piece at the end of the 7am programme on radio 4’i just called’
2) Oban cathedral for the SEC service this morning - we’re certainly getting around
3) the sitting reading in the sun.
4) finally got the music room sorted yay. Found my boater - an official LTFC one that landed on my head when we’d score down the winning goal all those years ago
5) lovely walk with the boys after supper - down by the school, over the railway bridge, along by the river then back along by the botanics - 45 mins and only saw 3 other people

Good morning
Had a little gentle rain yesterday but back to hazy sun today.
Recent pleasures
The heron keeps popping in to the garden. ( predictive text will insist it's heroin we have in the garden!!). It's only a small pond, with small fish but I suppose if you're hungry......Don't want him to catch any ( he hasn't yet) but he is beautiful to see.
DD arranged a delivery of a gift basket full of edible goodies from our local garden centre. Lots of tasty treats. So thoughtful.
I made a couple of headbands with buttons and delivered to a neighbour who is a nurse. I don't know her very well, just to say hello to, but I hope they will help a little. Will make more if she likes them.
Lots of chalked hopscotches have appeared in the village. Most people can't resist having a go, no matter how old!
Still finding lots to be grateful for including wonderful weather, garden, phone calls, whats app, good friends and continued good health of those I love.
Happy start of another week everyone

Haven’t seen & for a while, hope she is ok.
For yesterday,
I wake up just after 6 these days and mostly struggle to get back to sleep so got up, made tea and had small dog cuddles.
Another one here who is so grateful to have access to a garden, my herbs pots were sorted and fed, the Buddleia pruned and Cosmos planted out.
Lunch was out there too, the warm sun and a glass of wine made me sleepy.
Evening walk around the fields, coming back towards the cottage, seeing the green of the beech trees against the blue sky and feeling very blessed.
Watched and enjoyed the new Van der Valk even if we did keep humming the old theme song.
