So it's Eon, one of the BIG6
Like the other 5 they do supply business customers, but there are 'Chinese Walls' in place within Eon to seperate the Domestic market from the Business market.

As posted in Post #9, business suppliers are not allowed to supply domestic households, but with the meter having been previously used for business it's up to you to prove it is now serving a domestic household

You do this by informing Eon in WRITING, enclosing a copy of your Council Tax bill that shows domestic charges.

It's good that your supplier is Eon.
You know what your annual consumption figures are, so you can visit their domestic web-site and find what your annual costs would be on a Domestic Tariff, then use the differential as to what you would hold Eon Business liable for if they don't quickly release you to Eon Domestic

Once the change has been made, use those annual consumption figures to search the whole market for a better deal

You don't want to change supplier first, just change from business to domestic. Then you can choose a new domestic supplier. Insist on the change to domestic.

Eon is good news _ I feared that you might be in contract with a agency.

Business tariff is also good news - you can negotiate terms which you cannot do with domestic tariffs.

Write to Eon - keep it to simple facts - your ref number, date you moved in/gave your first readings, ask for written confirmation that you are out of contract.

Request that you are put on an equivalent standing charge and unit rate to their best Domestic Tariff. eg 1 year fix V22 or whatever your comparison site tells you for your consumption.

The advice given above is correct. You need to get Eon to re-classify you from business to domestic. Can you amend your first post to include a reference to Eon? There is an Eon Rep on this forum - if she sees your post she may offer to help.
Indecision is the key to flexibility :)

Log in, go to your first post and click on 'edit. post'. Amend as required and then click 'Save' .
PS: you don't need to post your name or the date each time: the system does that for you.
As advised above, switch to the residential SVT tariff with Eon, once that is done use any comp site to find the best tariff. And fire the intermediary agent, who has cost you dear while pocketing his commission.
Finally, have you not discussed this with your neighbours, who must be in the same situation? Or with the freeholder or management company?

    Confused.com

    Which is it please?

..Current electricity supplier told the intermediary, that: (this we have in writing)
-we are in arrears (our electric bill confirms we were in credit)
-current supplier was not given notice for moving to a new supplier", this is also incorrect as the intermediary attends to the transfer & they were given a date by our current supplier to move

This doesn't really make any sense to me.

Whether or not you are in arrears is a matter of fact. You can only be in arrears if you have been formally demanded an amount of money and faile d to pay that amount within 28 days. So unless the supplier can provide you a copy of the old bill they claim is outstanding, then they cannot block a switch request for that reason.

As for not being provided notice of moving supplier, how can that possibly be when they blocked the request ... according to what you have posted
