There's NO virtue to running hungry MONNA all that does is weaken your resolve by 3 in the afternoon and passing horses are then at risk of sudden consumption by total strangers with empty tums.
Have some breakfast but have porridge made with skimmed milk, some fresh fruit and sweetener and a couple of cups or tea/coffee or 0%fat Greek Yoghurt with fresh fruit and sweetener, it keeps you going to lunchtime and if you do get the nibblies mid morning have a banana, they always feel slightly sinful and are therefore more enjoyable. Make soup from fresh veg and use a blender to make veg, herbs and stock into a thick and satisfying soup, have it every day and have a good big bowlful with a piece of cooked chicken/a scotch egg/some cold sausages (low fat ones)or a couple of hard boiled eggs and that keeps you ticking until mid afternoon at the earliest. If you get the nibblies mid afternoon have a handful of dried fruit and nuts and make a pot of tea and have a couple of mugs minimum which will see you through to supper time. Supper is a glorious occasion which will fill you to the next morning and have some boiled new potatoes (4 or 5)/a jacket potato/2os dry weight rice, a piece of salmon/steak/couple of low fat sausages/4oz portion of 5%fat steak mince made into a burger, Bolognese sauce, Shepherds Pie, Chilli, Keema Curry/breaded fish, 2 egg omelette and as much salad/steamed veg of all kinds as you can cram in. Follow that with a bowl of fruit compote/fresh berries with Skyr/More yoghurt and a cup of black coffee and you'll not feel hungry petal, that's no fun at all. It's the way we ate for the weight loss and the way we'll eat from now on as it suits us well and our weight is now constant. There is also the knowledge that eating like that means that when you REALLY need a piece of chocolate you can have it, but stop at 1 and you'll not only enjoy it but will know you can have another one tomorrow and every other day as part of staying slimmer. YOU CAN DO IT xxx.
Saving graces I have found make things interesting are stevia as a sweetener, Mr.T light Vinaigrette and Light Balsamic Dressing, Any brand 0%fat Greek yoghurt/ plain Skyr/light salad cream (all brands)/dried sour cherries and blueberries (taste 'luxury' in a way that prunes don't)/ Philadelphia light cheese (again it has the luxury taste)/the odd piece of very high (70%)cocoa content dark chocolate and good ground coffee for the percolator. All these have made us feel pampered in a way that plain salads and veg and fruit don't.0 -

dandy-candy wrote: »Have discovered the worst part of dieting is that I can't indulge in my love of cooking. I made fudge yesterday for the first time in ages and of course spent all yesterday and today scoffing it! Resisting it really really isn't realistic, especially as it's my granny's recipe and so a bit of memory lane for me. The only real answer is to not make it anymore, or any of my favourite meals as the fact is I have no willpower.
I also love cooking, particularly the old fashioned stuff and fudge fits into that category. I don't know if it would help but I now do batch cooking and freeze the results into single portions as I too have a very low or non existent will power. Once frozen I seem to forget about it and it's easy to take just one portion out for DH. Uncooked pastry I also freeze in small portions -just enough for a single pie.
A few days ago I turned 330 eggs into icecream. It took 2 days to do and I have enough icecream to last into next year and because I was really busy doing it I managed not to taste any of it. I froze it into large single portions so that I could steal a tablespoonful should I fancy a bit when I used a portion.
Weigh-in today 1.5lb loss, reasonably happy but not ecstatic about it0 -
Minus 0.75
Thank goodness. I was getting really peeved.

Oh Mrs LW. You seem to have mistaken me for someone with a normal metabolism. If I ate anything like your diet I wouldn't be able to fit through the door. A doctor once told me that I would be the winner in a siege, when everyone had starved to death I would be the last one standing.
I have been overweight for 78 years and there's not much I don't know about nutrition. As it is I have an egg and crispbread or toast for breakfast in the summer, porridge in the winter with fruit. Some sort of protein with a large salad or lots of veg for lunch with a bowl of HM veg soup in winter when its cold. That's it. I may have a piece of fruit or some sugar free jelly in the e evening but not always.
It's the only thing that works for me.
I had a friend years ago who didn't believe how difficult is was for me to lose weight so we went on holiday together for a week and ate exactly the same things. She lost 2 lbs and I put on 6lbs . Then she believed me!I believe that friends are quiet angels
