Ooops. I seem to have posted on the wrong thread, the one dedicated to Slimming World members. I should have read it first, full of a lot of unfamiliar terminology like 'syns'.
After trying almost every 'diet' known to man, DH and I are doing it our way. I find I need much less to eat now I'm not running up and down a ward for 12 hours a day - well, it's a few years since I even did that.
Over the last year or so I find I just don't want a meal in the evening, so I don't have one. I also don't like potatoes, so we don't have them. The last potatoes we had in the house, I ended up giving them to a local charity.
This morning I checked on the NHS weight control site, input my details and I find to my delight that I'm now no longer in the obese category but overweight. I've been aiming to get below 10 stone and I haven't got very far to go.
Breakfast: we had grilled bacon, grilled tomatoes. Very high-fibre bread and a smear of Tiptree marmalade. Half an orange each, 2 cups of coffee. Oh, and we use full-fat milk, DH loves the cream which settles at the top. About the only 'syn' we have, for those who talk in those terms.
Lunch: a grilled pork chop, steamed mangetout peas. A banana and an easy-peel orange.
Tea: some crackerbread and a bit of Wensleydale cheese.
That's it for the day apart from water.
DH has his Type II diabetes control to battle with. I've just had my annual blood test and all is fine. No concerns about anaemia, diabetes, cholesterol - no worry at all.
As of this morning I weigh 65.3 kg, or 10 st 3 lb 15 ozs. I'm only 4 ft 10 ins tall so weight is important, otherwise I'd look like a 'botticelli', a little barrel.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

I think my scales had a bit of a moment this week, first I'd gained 2lb, then when I jumped on again 5 seconds later I'd lost 3 lbs!
Got a new battery and things are back on track, although I've gained 1/2lb, but I'll take that.
Hope everyone is ok, happy Tuesday everyone xxx0 -
Ok, a fresh start and a 2nd 8 weeks on the Blood Sugar Diet. I think I lost 24 or 25lbs last time but have put a few lbs on over the last month.
Weight today - 11 stones 13 (highest weight was 13 stones 6)
All BSD
I think I'll join you on the BSD as it worked for me last year. I'll start tomorrow 1st August. I need to focus again.0 -
