B - berries and yoghurt
L - half an avocado and sardines
T - broccoli cheese
All from BSD0 -
CRANKY40 I have dropped sugar, grains and can't eat potatoes as I'm intolerant.
Interesting what you say about potatoes, I'm the same, my ankles swell. However I'm ok with other plants in the same family eg tomatoes, peppers and aubergines. I've been like this for about five years now.
Another food I'm intolerant of is cheese made with cows milk, it makes me feel arthritic, goats cheese is fine. I've been told that cow cheese has a smaller molecular structure than goats cheese and therefore can pass through the small intestine more easily.
Apparently if you cook it, it's structure changes but I've never been brave enough to try it.0 -

I think you'll find it stands for Michael Mosley's '8 week Blood Sugar Diet', he also has a recipe book.
L: it was supposed to be egg omelette with mushroom but whilst it was cooking someone came to the door and it ended up being burnt.
So it ended up being toast and butter plus a banana- not eaten yet as DH is due home any minute, going to be haddock and veg, frozen berries and yogurt. He had better hurry up or I'll raid the fridge as I'm hungry.

Hi Zafiro. I'm fine with other nightshade too. I would hate to lose tomatoes! They are in most of my cooked dishes. I have a longish list of foods to avoid including all dairy, bananas (give me headaches) shellfish and salmon. The potatoes and bananas are the hardest because they are in so much largely as thickeners for savoury and sweet items. I try to avoid sugar and grains because they have a pronounced negative effect on my energy levels and moods but oh they do have the sweetest siren call!
Regarding dairy, I have a friend who can't tolerate raw but does manage cooked which would be consistent with your advice. I believe arthritis is linked to inflammatory responses so I wonder how much can be slowed down/halted by adjusting diet, but that's just my personal opinion. X0 -
Hi all. I'm sorry to say that I went awol for the second half of the last challenge. I completely lost focus and went totally off the rails.
I'm back now though and I'd like to be in the next challenge please knitwitch. Can you put me down for 10lbs0 -
Good afternoon ladies
Sorry I have been MIA for most of the last challenge, but I have had so many blips in real live (not all bad) the best being the marriage of my son to the most wonderful ladyI never thought the day would come as he has always said marriage wasn't for him! He said he had seen too much sadness/anger in his friends at school when their parents divorced
Obviously impacted on him more than seeing his own parents in a happy marriage (45 yrs) Any hoo, I could waffle on about this forever, but this is a weight loss thread :rotfl::rotfl: soooo I would like to join the next challenge starting June 30th and as it is my birthday I want to reach a healthy/comfortable target weight over the next year.
Knitwitch, I hope you are better now? -4kgs for me please.
I have so many back post to catch up with but I hope you are all keep well? Good luck with the next challenge xx0 -
