Everything crossed for you CBA - waiting to hear the drum-roll
Another round of applause for our 'leader'
Definitely not 'HOT' here either. Think I'm starting to get web feet :rotfl:
Lx
Sadly, no drum roll required - STS but lost another 0.1kg - I must be right on the very edge. 70.0kg
What concerns me is my body fat going up every week. 19.5% 5 weeks ago and it's slowly risen to now 28.6%. Are my omelette's causing this or is my body eating muscle as i'm only eating 1500-1600 calories a day? Is starvation mode real and do I risk a higher calorie week to kick start things again?
I don't really fancy another day of scouring the net for contradictory informationWeight Loss - Start (21st September 2016) 13st 10lbs, Current 10st 10lb (20th August 2017) :j
Target 11st 3lbs - Completed
New target - lose remainder of fat and gain muscle :cool:0 -

Are you drinking enough water?
Then try adding a brisk walk to your day....its too hot and humid here for me to do that at the moment but i found it helpful.0 -

I drink loads of water but don't measure it. Maybe I should?
I'm always out and about as well - walking to and from work.
I'm wondering if a Low Carb diet may work for me?
I know I want to hit 10st something, but maybe I should take a risk, go low carb - I can add some bacon into the mix.....scary as that sounds!Weight Loss - Start (21st September 2016) 13st 10lbs, Current 10st 10lb (20th August 2017) :j

How are you measuring your body fat? I don't think it's very likely that you've really put on almost 7kgs of fat over five weeks, let alone whilst losing weight over that period. It follows that there's probably something wrong with the way it's being measured. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

It's the weighing machine in Boots.
I've read (dangerous) that if you don't eat enough calories, your body starts eating muscle, but i'm too scared to eat more calories.Weight Loss - Start (21st September 2016) 13st 10lbs, Current 10st 10lb (20th August 2017) :j

Right, had a chat with someone at my local gym, the one with a very good reputation and i'm going for a tour this afternoon.
I can afford it and it's a rolling monthly contract, so won't be getting in too deep but I need to do something positive. The money I spend here (£38 p/m) will be clawed back from my spending elsewhere (notably stop buying fragrances - I have over 200 already!).
Heard from colleagues etc that this gym is different to other gyms and they are really helpful, so month by month....worth a go.Weight Loss - Start (21st September 2016) 13st 10lbs, Current 10st 10lb (20th August 2017) :j

I've heard that too, and I believe it. Just not at the rate of 1kg a week of lost muscle, and to provide energy to exercise, not to convert to fat. So, losing muscle to gain fat sounds all wrong if you're continuing to exercise as before.
The fact the weighing machine in Boots purports to measure your fat doesn't mean that it does so accurately. It may be affected by your hydration levels or your clothing, or it may just be broken! No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Hot, Carmen? Hot?
Here on the Sunshine Isle it's as dark as night, blowing a gale and tipping it down. The dog and I are wrapped up cosily and watching an old film on TV.
Breakfast: beans on toast
Lunch: cheese omelette, salad and half the roll left from yesterday.
nectarine.
That's it for today.
I remember many fond memories of the IOW, my in laws used to live their.0 -
Drinking water is a daily must, I try to drink 2/3 litres a day, easy in the summer months not so much in the winter.
Thirst can sometimes be mistaken for hunger IMHO.0 -

Well, i've had a meeting with the gym - they were very impressive and I can pay monthly @ £40 but they don't want my money yet - first week free to see if I like it and then re-assess month by month.
Spent over an hour with me going through health conditions and he's going to read up on them. I go back Sunday.
They have two gyms, both very big and an army of personal trainers etc. I like the sound of their customer ethic and he said ignore the body fat on the boots machine, just like people here have said. He looked at me and said their is no way I have 28% body fat, probably 10% less than that.
So, i'll see how it goes for my free time, but safe in the knowledge that it's month to month and I can pull out anytime after month 1 if I decide to join.
I drink lots. I tend to drink less at work for fear of needing the loo, the side effect of the diabetes that remains, even though i've beaten it. Work don't mind, but it's not easy to get away sometimes when only a couple of us are on the shop floor. It's also annoying going to the loo every 30-60 minutes sometimes.:oWeight Loss - Start (21st September 2016) 13st 10lbs, Current 10st 10lb (20th August 2017) :j
