Month's total: £471.09 which is less than I was expecting to be honest but still a lot more than I'd like.
What I've learned this month:
* Sainsbury's and Tesco can be radically different on prices but one is not consistently better than the other.
* With both of us being sick with flu part of the month there's been little energy for standing at the oven but even so we could manage to avoid takeaways in the main - five this month which is about half what we've had some months - due to being prepared.
* Cans of soup/ baked beans etc. are acceptable for dinners sometimes (and obviously cheaper than takeaways).
* Eating Gnocchi two weeks after its use by date is absolutely fine.
* I should really stop buying cucumber as it always gets wasted.
* Keeping broc in its plastic sleeve keeps it green loads longer.
* I love yellow labels
Looking forward to September and actually making a budget this time.0 -

I'm declaring on £107.24/£105, so £2.24 over budget. Given that we'd started the month with a £15 deficit, it was inevitable that we'd go over budget but I'm surprised it wasn't by more than £2.24. (Our budget is normally £120/month for grocery shopping. )zafiro1984 wrote: »Does anyone check their receipt, I've changed supermarket to a cheaper one and on the last two occasions I've checked my receipt when I got home and found an item I've not had on both occasions. I think I'll have to do it in the shop before I leave next time but I'd be interested if anyone has found the same?
Yes, me. And my husband. You know how supermarket checkouts always feed onto an aisle/corridor space with windows on the far side? Well, we're the people standing by the window reading a receipt before we tuck it into our shopping bag. Most of the time, we're just checking our Mr T's Points balance, but we did find something that had gone through twice, last time. The lady on the checkout was very apologetic. (It was quiet, so she corrected the error then and there on the spot.)
See you in September."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'
It ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it - that’s what gets results!

Had a £7 spend yesterday, on complete c**p, mainly chocolates from £ store. I have updated sig. Amazingly, my alcohol consumption has drastically reduced - not too in2 drinking anymore - wot strange words she speaketh. I was going to do a bit of a shop today, but really can't be arsed, as I have other things to do, so I will meal plan and live out of stores/freezer 'till Monday, so am declaring at £49.19/£70, which is £20.81 under, very pleased with that. Will be transferring left over monies to 'Bulk Buy' fund. See you in September.0

Declaring at £148.27, so more than £50 under budget. I'm not entirely sure why this month is so under, pretty sure this is a one off fluke!0
