Our month finishes on Thursday for the new month to begin on Friday. We are -£1.66 right now. OH will need milk tomorrow as a minimum. Hoping we will come in under £160. Yes we are over but right now not by much and minimizing the damage is vital.
£156.66/£150
£1.66 over budget.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
I'm pleased with my shopping for this month.
Under budget :j £30.40/£50
I am however expecting next month to be more difficult as I will be restocking my store cupboard.0 -
Went to the sm with a list but failed to stick to it. I got intrigued by some red lentil and green pea pasta so bought one of each to try. I'm not gluten free so it wasn't needed (especially as they were much pricier than normal pasta - coeliacs must get very fed up with that!).
I spent £22.50 which takes me slightly over for the month (blame the pasta at £1.69 a 250g packet). I'm declaring at £101.90/£100.
Well done everyone who kept to budget and see you over in September's thread.0 -
Takeaway £35  Tesco £32.53 Aldi 71.84 = £139.37
Total for August 17 £353.74I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy0 -
Declaring 258.35 for August that's £8.35 over budget but I've just done a weeks shopping today so not too disappointed.
Does anyone check their receipt, I've changed supermarket to a cheaper one and on the last two occasions I've checked my receipt when I got home and found an item I've not had on both occasions. I think I'll have to do it in the shop before I leave next time but I'd be interested if anyone has found the same?0 -
Declaring at $893/950, which makes it the first month I've managed to come in under budget! There were two evenings that we ate out, which kept costs down (we count that in a different budget because it's usually less than once a month and hardly affects the grocery spend) but otherwise this was a very normal month.MFW diary here. 1 Feb 2017 $229,371 - MFD Feb 2043  aiming for May 2028
14 August 2017 - Refinanced: $220,000
January 2019 $211,580 Current MFD 31 June 20360 -

I do check my receipt, but last time found a tin of tuna had been cancelled but I definitely had it! So it was in my favour that time.
I've had a better week this week at £88.22, but slinking out of August very shamefaced at a whopping total of £614.05. I blame our expensive weeks holiday (but don't regret it at all) plus the summer hols which mean the kids eat a lot more in the house!
See you all in September...GC Feb 2019 (to 10th) £397.07/£3000 -
Well I made it. Under budget. Total August grocery spend £99.76/£125.00.
Did lots of batch cooking and using store cupboard contents.
Thanks for all the support.

Well I doubt OH will be home before the shops shut and my disability is kicking my butt right now so I'm not going to go out.
I'm calling it £160.50/£155.
£5.50 over budget. Not too bad really as works out at less than 20p extra a day. I'd still call that a win of sorts.
Well done to those that came in budget. Others like me that were over just remember how it would have been worse most likely if we hadn't been aware of what we were spending! I know when I stopped coming on this challenge that our spends went up a lot.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0
