Sorry about the car PG. I also hope it is easily/quickly fixed and isn't costly.

£1.80 spent today on a bag of frozen peas and courgettes.
Making vegan lasagne in the slow cooker. Not done it before but hoping it will turn out well.

    £63.27/£155.
    £91.73 left.

How did the vegan lasagne turn out, D&G?

One big Saturday shop down and I'm at $180/$950. Heading to Costco later this week, but I think I have the hang of this now: meat, frozen berries, tofu and noodles only!

Meal plan for the rest of this week:

Monday - spinach and feta quiche (not done this for a while as my chickens have been on strike, but I've finally wheedled a few eggs from them)
Tuesday - Cuban pork with leftover roast pork
    Wednesday - Hainanese chicken rice
    Thursday - Tacos
Friday - Laksa with leftover chicken from Wed + tofu + whatever else is around
MFW diary here. 1 Feb 2017 $229,371 - MFD Feb 2043  aiming for May 2028
    14 August 2017 - Refinanced: $220,000
    January 2019 $211,580 Current MFD 31 June 2036

Well, today was unintentionally a nsd! We went out for lunch to see my friend, and oh paid, then by the time we'd finished, the shops were shut so I couldn't get the few bits I needed.

Still at £10.33 for the month so far. I'll pwrhaps go to morries tomorrow as I need so little, to combine with a ys mooch. I have actually only had 1 spend day so far this month!!

No idea what we're going to eat, as we had a big meal at lunch. I'll offer a few different ideas and see - any way they choose, we'll be using stuff up though :).

    Hi Everyone

It's been a strange couple of days for me. I spent most of Thursday feeling like death-warmed-up, which culminated in a splitting migraine. Friday was a bit of a fog, but I'm a contractor so I work unless it really has laid me completely low. I can't afford not too. Friday was also my birthday, which I celebrated by curling into a ball on the couch as soon as I got home while DH stumped up for a takeaway curry. (Is their a flu virus doing the rounds at the moment? If so, I wish it wouldn't come in stages - I've had the throat, now I have the aches.).

We've had a couple of small spends: my husband went a bit mad in Costco, but most of it comes out of the Bulk Fund or the meat fund. He spent £7.99 on four chicken en croute, which will come out of the general Groceries money. Today, I spent £7.19 on stuff for wraps for tomorrow night, plus some YS cheese and YS salami (we're off to the Proms tomorrow night, so need to pack a picnic),

While I was feeling like rubbish, I wondered if I shared my motivation for doing the GC whether you'd all share yours, too. (Curiosity really should be my middle name.). We run pretty well to budget but things have the potential to get tight around here. As mentioned, I'm a contractor and I hate it. I have a rolling contract but I've spent a lot of time over the last year wondering why they brought me on board - I don't have a defined role. I'm just a spare pair of hands who gets given tasks to be sorted out. It's not that there isn't stuff to be done but nothing is "mine" and I can't plan my work day. I keep expecting to be given my notice. In addition, my DH is being made redundant on Friday. We have an emergency fund and we've reached that happy point where either of us can pay all our living expenses, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I remember quite vividly what it was like to live pay-cheque-to-pay-cheque. Anyway, that's why I'm doing this. What about you?
