August 2017 Grocery Challenge

Nsd today. Went to a friend's for lunch and took a few things, then we all went to fr33d0g but we took our own drinks - I'm not paying £1 for a bottle (500ml) of water!!
We had spag bol for dinner tonight, and fed oh. Well, he did sort out my car's mot, while letting me use his car, so thought I should!! There's enough left over for the three of us to have another dinner, so will probably freeze it to have next week. I have got into awful freezer habits - I freeze stuff, then don't use it... What's the point?! By saying I'll use it next week, I hope that is a change in the right direction for me...
Haven't decided on dinner for tomorrow yet - there's just too much choice here - I'm desperately trying to use up stuff as my stock level is ludicrous, but I keep spotting bargains
I might do myself a mushroom and bean curry and the children something else with rice. We'll see.
On a grocery-related note... Do any of you have a pressure cooker? Would you recommend them? Tia.

I still need to get some more foil trays, but they don't seem to stock them. I don't really want to buy them from S'burys as they are so expensive. Any ideas?
Why do you need the foil trays - for what are they used ??

For cottage pie portioning and freezing mostly, sometimes other stuff (though I try to use the plastic tubs for them). We separate our portions as I am allergic to cheese, but DH loves a good serving of grated cheese on top of his. They can then go straight in the oven when we want to eat them. Couldn't do that with the plastic tubs.x
I have spent more today, but receipt is in car outside (at work now). Topped up grapes for DD, and some of the rice cake snack thingys she likes. Also got some some 3in1 coffee for DH for his fishing trip, and cereal bars also for his fishing trip, topped up on dr pepper zero (I really need to address that) and snackajacks (cheaper than s'burys own at the moment).February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
First day of the monthly grocery challenge today and it will be a NSD. I think, due to the stuff already in the cupboards and freezers, it's going to be a low spend month and the real challenge will be in September but I will see how it goes. There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. Aldi shopping list prepared for Friday along with a Mr T online order. This will cover us from 4th August up to and including 17th August. We are away for 3 nights in a hotel and then 5 days camping. The camping food is included in the above shopping.
Aldi comes to £60.28 as per mysupermarket and Mr T comes to £55.47. The Mr T will be increased to £70 as a £10 off a £70 voucher has just this minute dropped through the door so I will stock up on some GF items I can't get at Aldi. #perfecttiming
I also have £10 of Mr T vouchers that have been sitting in my purse for ages. I know it is better value to use them on an event or what not but I never see anything I would use them for. Will check out Pizza 3xpress vouchers to use when we are away next week before I add them to my order.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

Wow £5 off £30 voucher at L!dl is amazing!!! Where can I find vouchers for L!dl?
I've started the challenge today but trying to use up what I have in before I do a shop. Running low on milk always seems to be where we fall down and end up going to the shops again! I know milk can be frozen but not sure on its shelf life once defrosted, so I've never tried it.Aug 2017 GC Budget £1800 -
