Another lovely day and a surprisingly uneventful journey home from Mum and Dad's. Not a nsd as we stopped at a fast food place for some food and to put pickle in his pjs. This is the same Pickle that had me awake at 4am. Thankfully my mum took him from me at 7 and I stayed in bed until just before 10. I don't think I slept, but I definitely needed the rest.
Since coming home I've cleared out my car, sorted the things from being away. Done and 'pegged out' the clothes - a great head start for the week.
Mum and dad did offer me the money to have the windows in our bedroom replaced, which I declined, hubby said I was a muppet to decline, but I'd rather they spent it enjoying themselves, or it was available if we really needed it. My parents are great, if they were to give us a gift, then they would do the same for
My brother too, and the same vice versa. Very generous and very fair.

Work meeting in the city tomorrow
And I may, depending on the time, do a bit of clothes shopping on the way home, I think I'd like a pair of cotton palazzo trousers and some new casual tops, but we'll see if I can actually bear to part with my money.

A little tilly tidy done, but that's it.

    Wish.

    Evening all,

I've missed a couple of days of updates due to being very tired and having a terrible migraine last night. Wages and expenses are dribbling in, some have arrived others I've had the payslips for so they are pending on Ynab and will drop in tomorrow.

Technically I will have met my 13 step challenge target, but I've pulled £180 back out of the pots to pay for the decorator to finish the prep off for our bedroom redecoration. Between the supply I did last week (unexpected) and the supply day I've accepted for tomorrow (unexpected) I've covered that outlay.

Today has been a nsd, so very very close to my target. - we'll have to see what the next few days bring.

I've had to hang the washing up in the bathroom as the smoke from the moorland fire is all the way over to us (we must be about 15/20 miles away from it.) my friend lives further away than us and even she can smell and taste it.

Hubby has gone out drinking with a friend, I've got a girly Chinese tomorrow night so a night out each.

    Enjoy the sunshine everyone.

    Wish.

    Morning all,
I've just spent some time doing June's round ups, firstly my monthly mar challenges

    MSE June Targets

    1) Mop pot: (£264.39)
    1) Interest added £64.88£64.88 :j
    2) Nice round number £81.15/£81.15 :j
    3) £400 capital reduction £68.11/68.11 :j
    4) MFW2018 target £44.03/£50.25

just over £6 short here, but £400 capital reduction on mortgage, my monthly mfw2018 challenge target met and some of the 'deficit' from May made up. I'll add £5 to July's target and call it 'quits'

    2) 13 step plan
    £825/£913
A little short of target but I've diverted £180 that would have gone into there into a separate pot to pay the decorator, money well spent. In total between mortgage capital reduction and 13 step plan I've put £1289.03 into becomeing mortgage neutral by July 2020. I'm about a month ahead of where I need to be to keep on track and I've reduced what I 'need' to put aside by £7 a month compared to where I was at the end of May - wooo hooo

    3) Nsds
    15/16
1 short, not bad, half the month not spending any money is not bad!

    4) debit card transactions
    17/20
3 short of my £5bonis for using the debit card 20 times, never mind...

    5) 1p a day challenge
32/30 :j this is building up nicely, I know what I'm doing with the money when I hit the 365
    Days... watch this space!

    Monthly spends

    Groceries: £119.80/£200
This is a bit false as I used some extra
Income in May to do a big top up shop that isn't counted in this.

    Household: £60.85/£100
I'm starting to switch a number of our regular goods to switch n save from that well know online retailer, three products every two months so far, already a saving on individual prices on where we have been buying and, if I switch more, I'll get the 15% discount. We'll see what else I can switch..

Personal spends: £89.60/£100 not really personal spends as such, more things I do with Pickle, quite a lot of waste here as well, need to look at this more carefully in July.

    Restaurants/Eating out: £116.50/£100
Over budget, but quite a bit spent on a meal out with some very close friends, worth every penny.

    Random stuff: £62.77/£90
Includes annual cat at vet stuff..

    Petrol: £165.01/£70
Huge amounts of this came back in my
Work expenses, personal spends with in the £70 budget. Car is full of fuel now and I've only got 1 linger trip of about 100miles to do, so may have a much better month this month.

The 13 step plan to mortgage neutrality - month 4

    Step1: the actual mortgage: £2612.14/£11,600
    Step 2: emergency fund £2000/£2000
    Step 3: wage storage £620/£2400
Step 4: white goods repair & replace: £105/£1000
Step 5: increased bills at new house £400/£2900
    Step 6:0
    Step 7:0
    Step8:0
    Step9:0
    Step 10:0
    Step11:0
Step12: commercial clean of old and new house £375/£375
    Step 13:0

So, that is where we are as of the end of June 2018. A really successful month due to a lot of overtime and some massive amounts of work expenses. Let's see what July brings....

So, after June comes July, obvious really, but here we are.
July is split into two halves and two budgets for us, I've got two week's at home on 'normal budget' the we relocate to the lakes for 3 weeks for hubby's work which has its own, separate budget that I save for each year.

So, today has been a nsd (going for 7 up until we go away, only 6 more to squeeze in)
Mortgage interest is in, number crunching is done, so here are my targets for July:

    MSE July goals

    1) Mop pot:£215
    1) interest added 0/£61.95
    2) nice round number 0/£17.12
    3) £400 mortgage capital reduction 0/£112.14
    4) MFW2018 target 0/23.79

    2) 13 step plan
    0/£900

    3) Nsds
    0/7

Quick, early morning update from me now I've checked the bank account for all the 'first of the month' bills and transfers to have happened. How sad it is that I get excited by these things?

All looking really positive here Wishing, your spending (or lack of) is very good. The lakes for three weeks sounds lovely, particularly if this fine weather holds out.

Good stuff, Wish! I like your focus and determination. You've inspired me to think about paying off my mortgage early, once I'm debt free of course! Roll on November!

The lakes is lovely, but I'm not expecting the weather to hold it's been too nice for too long,it's got to rain sometime.

November will be here before you know it. I have lots of little challenges that change all the time. Keeps me on my toes. Overpaying On the mortgage makes such a difference. You will love it.

Thank you both for leaving a message, it is lovely to have visitors.

Today was a nice family lunch out, I paid for ice creams and some treaty evening food as hubby is around. I got repaid for some training today, but put it towards the decorators bill which came in today, that pot on YNAB is still £20 short, but I'm due some supply money on Friday so will put the last bit in that pot and the rest into the 13 step plan.

Next bedroom job is £815 for two new windows, will probably take this out of the 13 step plan when the bill comes in, I will start putting some money away, but I probably won't get enough.
