  • Still no thunderstorms and another muggy day, I haven't left our property today, I have left the house, but only ventured out into the back yard. We are all quite tired. Hubby had a very long work day yesterday, we had a long day at the zoo. Pickle slept well overnight but was quite tired still this morning. He's pottered round with his cars today, watched a film with Hubby and took a short walk to the shop to buy hubby beer for this evening, not his usual high energy day at all.

I've had a nsd, but some more direct debits have gone out, mobile phone bill has been generated and my bank account reward has been paid, this all makes my mop pot look quite healthy at the moment. I'm over halfway towards my next mini target and it's only the 2nd of the month.
I'm hoping for another nsd tomorrow and then we'll see what next week holds.
    Have a lovely weekend everyone.
    Wish.

  • Another NSD hip hip hooray, that makes a no spend weekend. It was well needed after the financial car crash on Thursday.
Today has been church, then Home and chilling out (again) tea tonight was meant to be a Sunday Roast, but it's far to hot. So I still roasted the chicken, but did a rosemary & lemon roast with roasted veg, Little potatoes & salad. Hubby did insist on having the stuffing I'd planned though, which was a little odd, but kept him happy. I may need to juggle meals later in the week to use up the carrots and roasting potatoes I'd bought, but the good thing was I didn't have to buy anything else to change the meals around.
Pickle has pottered around the house again today playing with his cars and his water table, he's also very stuffed up, so I guess feeling a little pants too, he's got another busy week at the Childminder's this week as her daughter and the older mindees have a second week of half term.

Landline phone bill generated so that's been ynab'd and a tilly today made to the mop pot. Things are really going to slow down from now on, as usual, just need to keep my spending under control.

I've got a few outstanding jobs to do this week, as well as prepping for a big, very important work trip next week. My work diary is a little crazy for the next 6 weeks. So much for only working 1 day a week. Not sure what supply work I will fit in over the next few weeks.

This evening I've got a couple of nice 'sit in front of the tv' tasks, I'm sure a G&t will help with them too.

Have a lovely evening everyone, and all those back in the classroom tomorrow, all the very best.
    Wish.

  • Work was a bit of a write off today. Will have to make up the time on Wednesday. My anxiety got the better of me, but I didn't spiral out of control, I just took some time to reframe and got mostly back on the wagon.

Pozpped out at lunch time to get some 'bits' for tea £19.75 later:
Bottle of wine, big bag crisps, prawns, salad, bottle of wine and 3 lots of bought puddings. We've entertained hubby's aunt and uncle tonight, I do not begrudge spending the money at all. They spoil us rotten all of the time. I'm just a little bit sad that I didn't have the capacity to make pudding.

Shopmium have paid out, so a mop pot addition.

    Tomorrow
Is family day out with aunt & uncle. Then lovely evening meal out. Chances of us being allowed to treat said uncle at the meal are slim to none. Unlikely to be a nsd though.
    Wish.

  • Thanks Pinky, I do feel a bit better today, but dwelling a little when my mind and body are still. I'm doing better than I would have done 2 years ago, but I'm still not quite there. I'll keep working on it.

    Today's financial news:
Trip to the wetlands centre with hubby's family - used membership to get in cost =£0
Lunch at wetland's centre - hubby's family inisoted on paying cost =£0

Dinner at posh city restaurant hubby's family insist on paying cost =£0

Babysitter, friend who said I made an awesome paella cost =£0

    Therefore a nsd. Wooo hooooo

    Very tired now. Updates below.

  • another nsd - 3 in a row amazing! But I have periods of time like this and then days when money seems to slip through my fingers like water.
Brunch out with generous family this morning, then worked this afternoon, some jobs this afternoon/evening. Very tired again, but this is becuase work is a bit crazy and I need to take a step back. I've got a pain in my neck (an actual pain) probably stress/tension related, so if I get the opportunity to pop out for a massage I'm going to take it. Hubby working in the afternoon, so probably under my feet in the morning. Although, if he stays still too long he may get tidied.

I hope everyone has had a lovely day.
    Wish.

    Great run on NSD :j:j

I hope your neck is better. I have one of those gel pack things for sports injuries and generally sore muscles. Heated in the microwave it great for soothing pain. It's a really robust one and was £5 from one of those companies that sell books and quite often tat  by dropping samples off in offices, schools etc. Worth every penny - it's always in use:p xx

Thank you, it is still quite tender, but more uncomfortable than sore, I didn't get for a massage today, but I do have a wheat bag that may do the trick.

Love the book packs from that company for Christmas pressies for the children of friends etc.

I may hit the bath too, but, it's a bit warm for a bath really.

  • Evening all

Another NSD had a voucher for a free ice cream, so went and 'spent' that for some self care with a friend, but that is all.
I stripped more of the bedroom today - just the ceiling and the very top part of the walls to go now - unless we decide to take out the fitted wardrobes.
Rang a window company - need new bedroom windows if we are going to redecorate- they came to quote, waiting to hear back now.
Messaged the plasterer - she's coming tomorrow to look at the walls (and ceiling)
Messaged the decorator - she's coming tomorrow or Saturday to have a look round - I think I'm going to get her in to do the ceiling and top part of the wall, my work is going crazy.

Decorating and sorting our bedroom out is going to cost, so will affect the 13step plan, but hopefully it will make the house easier to sell/increase the value of the house so is investment rather than spending.

I had to deal with a serious Safeguarding issue today, I was able to be quite mindful about it, it's not resolved, but I can rest easy tonight.

Our weekend starts tomorrow, trip to the library with the Pickle, visit by the plasterer and possibly the decorator. Not sure what else. I don't even think any direct debits-automated cars payments have gone out today. Will check now. nope, not change to the bank account, nothing to Tilly today.

    Wish.

Another nsd. I think that's 5 in a row. A record, even for me.

Mum's coffee this morning didn't cost me anything as a friend paid as I've paid for hers previously. Then Library with the Pickle, then home. This afternoon the plasterer lady visited to make recommendations for our bedroom. There is a 'if we are planning on moving soonish' option - which is reasonable (less than £400) and a 'we're staying in this house for a long time' option which will cost a couple of thousand, it's my preferred option (getting rid of the fitted wardrobes that I don't like) will have to consult with the hubby.
The window company got back to me - just under £1k for two (rather large) windows, it's about what I was expecting. Another company returned my enquiry today and are booked in to quote in about 10 days. So we'll see what they come back with.

Continued to deal with the Work issue, part of it is resolved, part is ongoing and will rumble along for a while.

Lazy weekend planned. Our city is hosting a number of large spectator events this weekend, so we don't actually want to travel too far.

The increase in the mop pot tonight is due to a £5 Bank account reward, I can't work out what is paid when for this account, so it's a nice surprise when it comes.

I hope everyone is having a lovely end of the week, and your weekends are fabulous too.

    Wish.
