Broadband Genie offers - anyone else waiting?

They offered me £100 in M and S vouchers to go to Sky. This was in October. Numerous e mails to them and Sky, both blaming each other Still no vouchers. This seems like fraud. False advertising. They lure you in to deals that don't exist, even though you follow the rules.0

I took advantage of the Post Office broadband offer highlighted in the weekly email which was via Broadbandgenie. Received email from them to click link to get the £50 Amazon voucher. They had no record so completed form. Just received email "Unfortunately your sale did not automatically track to us". In which case, how did I receive an email initially?
So they will talk to Post Office and will have to wait at least 75 days. Perhaps longer. By which time I will have forgotten about it.
One has to wonder how genuine Broadbandgenie is. Perhaps MSE should put a small warning against future offers from the company.0 -
Same here signed up for one of these deals with BT and not only did the move not register (still ended up paying full price spent hours on the phone before BT finally decided to honour the price i signed up to) but no vouchers, card, nada.
Makes you wonder if theres something shady going on or journalistic sites like this one simply report whatever they see and everyone takes a cut of the referral fees and the only person not getting anything out of the deal is the actual person who's signing up.Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.0 -
Given the number of months that MSE and Martin Lewis have been endorsing the Post Office telecoms standard broadband offer, helped by the supply of a £50 Amazon Gift Card as part of the deal, I feel compelled to highlight my experience of acquiring the gift card after joining Post Office Telecoms (POT) in July 2019.
We switched to PO Telecoms in July, and by November still had not received our gift card (this breaching the promised leadtime) so, after gaining no joy we raised a complaint via Resolver. Over the next two months POT firstly had no record of the order from the third party supplier, then blamed them for the manual order not coming through either, then originally offered to refund us for the gift card. They then revoked this when Broadband Genie (3rd party supplier) advised that the card would arrive in January - halfway through our contract with POT! POT said they would only refund us if we did not receive the gift card at all.
Eventually we had to escalate the Resolver compliant to senior level but POT were still very unhelpful until we threatened to escalate to the Ombudsman. after being batted from pillar to post throughout Christmas and beyond, we reached a stalemate until POT's senior escalation finally resulted in us getting the promised refund unconditionally. After 6 months with POT they finally refunded us the gift card - then a few days later the card came through from the third party!
This is a very brief highlight reel of what we have been through. The customer service experience we went through was terrible, hence the reason for bringing this to your attention - mindful that we are that customer service on companies and offers endorsed by MSE is such a big issue for you.
I felt that you needed to know this given that the POT service has still been recommended up to literally the last few days as the best deal for standard broadband (it appears to have now been overtaken by another deal). I don't know whether you have had feedback from other people until this thread was initiated by the previous correspondent.1 -
So if there are these problems with Broadbandgenie, perhaps MSE should really stop recommending or mentioning their offers.1

These posters above should really be complaining to MSE . Posting on the forum is not complaining to MSE .0

Hi JJ Egan - perhaps you could give us the link, website or email address where people can complain to MSE directly?
I have spent ages looking and clicking through links on the MSE site and can't find anywhere for complaints like these!
I'm sure there is somewhere, could you let us know where? Many thanks! :money:0 -
