Caravans parked on street

Our neighbour parked a caravan outside his house. The man who lived on the other side of the road objected so parked his car opposite it, blocking the road.
When others couldn't get passed they called the police.
The police arrived and told the car owner to move his car.0 -

We were shown a beautiful VW camper like this at a campsite. Obviously had taken hours of work. In beautiful condition. Then the owner pointed out that because it was from the 1960s there was no crash protection. As it was rear engined your legs and feet were right at the front so any frontal impact would squash your legs. He then said he was really worried because his son wanted to borrow it to take to Cornwall. We agreed that you would be protective of such a vehicle. "Oh no he's really careful, but there are hills in Cornwall and this can't get up a hill!"0 -
As they are not taxed, MOT'd or insured, they are considered an obstruction in the Highway. If a trailer/caravan is not coupled to a vehicle, then they will be served notice.
That's incorrect. As I understand it you can park a trailer or caravan on the road at no cost and it does not need to be coupled to anything.0 -

And at the other end of the spectrum,

Don't know what your point is but it's all irrelevant anyway because the OP hasn't said what type of camper van but does say "old clapped out" so assume it isn't a £50,000 VW.0 -
The cost of T2 VWs is scary, even my T25 is worth a frightening amount for a rusty 30 year old van (it is a syncro with two sliding doors though).. 46 years ago in a 1958 VW camper 6 volt no syncro 5 passengers and over the Pyrenees one time and another few times towing a small trailer loaded along with other things a 10hp Mercury out board and inflatable boat, on our way to the Costa Brava for the annual holiday.
We overtook lorries down hill they returned the favour uphill.
Always parked in our garage with no room for anything else, could have sworn I saw it on Sunday lots of rust spots but it had the same small rear window that was rare I think.
Sorry OP off topic.0
