Mid contract rises Vodafone home broadband

Naughty naughty Vodafone. I received an email from them tonight after only being with them for 4 months to say that they are already putting up the monthly bill. What is it with all of these phone and broadband suppliers, they keep doing this.................and I keep leaving them with 30 days notice as per the get out clause. Its becoming a nuisance. Why can't a contract term actually be a contract term like it used to be, where you know what you are going to pay for an agreed length of time. I will be ringing them in the morning to see if there is any leeway on this, and if not then it looks like talk talks turn, as they say they do not increase in the contract term, the only ones I believe

They might not increase their prices but there are many other reasons to avoid TT.0

I'm quite happy with this. Sign up to a 12/18 month contract, get £80 odd from topcashback, wait until they put the price up then move to a new supplier and get some more cashback:beer:.0

After a phone call today I managed to get a decent deal with Vodafone to stay. Always worth a polite phone call to see......0

I haven't received such an email from them, do you think that means that I am exempt? Have been with them since February and have to save that they have provided a decent enough connection. Although with my work laptop have to switch channels via their mobile phone app, too many things on the one channel? Have to do this every time?
In the last two years have been with Sky, PlusNet, BT and now Vodafone.0 -

I also see that Talk talk are raising their prices, so it seems they all are. Once you receive the email I would suggest you give them a ring, go through to retention's and tell them that you are unhappy with the rise as you have only recently joined them but are thinking of leaving within the 30 day notice and see what they offer you. For me the amount was not the point as its only £1 a month extra, but its the principle of raising it when they feel they want to within the contract term which I think is wrong. Unfortunately Talk talk are the only ones I am aware of at present that guarantee to keep to your contracted amount until the end of the signed up term.
I have 14 months left on my contract, so 14 x £1 is £14. They offered me a £20 one off payment to stay which I accepted, so worth you trying something similar. Hopefully in future we will be able to sign up for contracts again that actually stay the same for the year or 18 months0 -

Thank you. Currently paying £23 a month fibre isn't available unfortunately. Virgin is available but heard some horror stories about actual speeds compared to what's on offer. Thinking of joining Zen but they seem quite expensive.0 -
Its a bit of a nightmare I know. I have had 3 different suppliers in recent years. Vodafone seem to work well though which made it an easier choice to stay. I had one problem with the landline not working and they were really quick and efficient at sorting it, with follow up calls to make sure everything was ok.
Its a shame there is no loyalty from suppliers these days trying to keep you. It seems that phone and broadband is fast becoming like car insurance, change every year to get the best prices0 -
(Its a shame there is no loyalty from suppliers these days trying to keep you )
As per MSE no loyalty from moneysavers either .0 -

But if you were loyal to them you wouldn't want to move, regardless of price. We can't have it both ways!0
