It's nice to have visitors parking, but the Audi is totally his responsibility, not yours. The very very worst is that you move your car elsewhere, to leave your space for visitors, but most people would think that was OTT.

I know people who do this regularly. They generally move their own car to a neighbours to leave their drive free for their visitors pride and joy.

    Funny story:

We have a relative with a pride & joy car. He was out visiting friends, parked on their drive in a super posh neighbourhood where they have private security. He popped out during evening to check on his car, to find it stolen!

Apologetic security team said they saw someone get in the car and drive away, but they had no reason to believe it wasn't the car's owner!
The car is also fitted with 2 tracking devices. One is meant to send a text alert when the car is moved but the owner's phone isn't in the car (clever!) Except the owner was inside the house and the house is so big with thick walls that there was no mobile reception inside the house, so that failed.

When the car was recovered, within a couple of hours, the inside was shredded to pieces as the thieves had performed a deep and destructive search to find the tracking device. They'd eventually found one, but hadn't realised that the car had two!

Oh dear. Surely, by shredding the interior they made the car unsaleable?

Ordinarily, I would not be bothered by parking 400 yards away, in order to free up my parking space. Just at the minute, though, I am quite restricted in my movements.

So, today's events will be: thinking about this latest one that I dismissed entirely as a parking fail on the first look. Secondarily it failed on location not being "on the street". Thirdly it fails for "what's the other side of the wall", but that's possible to sort out a bit.

So, this one has three fails.

But it does win on: age, look, possibly orientation, fairly well placed for access to stuff/transport, layout/facilities/space. It wins on perceived quality of lifestyle and how I'd use/move about the space.

It is one I could just move in, lob stuff into a (spare) room, sit down and order a takeaway with money in the bank and a conservatory brochure on my lap. With another room so I could say to people "stay if you want".... e.g. a sibling. So then, with the idea of visitors.... is that parking really single, or is it tandem-possible.

I've looked on aerial and the parking spot is the one I'd want (not in the middle, not adjacent to everybody's bin/access path). It certainly looks long enough to be tandem from Google aerial view.

Also checked council tax, which is a band C.

Crime maps show 1-3 mostly anti-social near to the road, needs more investigation on that front.

Current status: This could be "the one". The decision of "oh sod it, this has so many pluses and few minuses based on all the others out there". Just need to see it for real. That parking will always be a bit of a worry, but at least there's no DOOFing fence and 3 properties -v- the current 22 that could produce DOOFers

Pastures, what really worries me about this one is the allocated parking, i.e. no defendable boundaries around it.

Given the problems you've had with your current house........

I know you said there are only three houses, but what if the other two have a couple of kids each or even one and their friends come calling, and they all decide to play out in the parking areas?

Especially being tucked round the back, the parking areas then become a 'safe playing space' and you're then out of the frying pan into the fire.

Tell me to shut up if you like, but I had great big jangly cathedral warning bells ringing when I read about the parking. :(

Insurance took the car away to sort it out - said it would cost "many thousands".

You posted a while ago about needing many tests in a short space of time without further explanation, so I felt it too intrusive to enquire. Hope you are ok.

Big op on Monday week, removal of most of my colon. As soon as I've recovered from that, I have to have a second op for something else.

Not a happy bunny. I'd much prefer to be tagged. That made me smile, although I'm not smiling a lot at the moment.

Updating my will. Power of attorney. Make a list of passwords and where everything is. So much paperwork!

I voted today. The first time I've gone to vote and not really known who to vote for.
