Urgh, bloody wide awake club. Fell asleep on sofa at 9.30 and went to bed at 10. Woke up at 1.30 and haven't got back to sleep yet.

    Hoping to nod off soon

4am is a nice time. It's my 'me' time as it's quiet, and I don't have to feel guilty about not doing anything except watching TV or internetting!

You might be in the Wide Awake Club ... but my Toothache Club beats that.

    :)

I'm not one for taking pills, so if I can wait until it's worn off then I will.... especially now I know there'"nothing wrong" and it's just nerve pain due to cracked enamel.

Bl00dy hurts though.... but determined not to be a pill popper. Last painkiller I had was 7pm Sunday.

The Wide Awake Club's very soothing if you just accept that you're a member and find something to do. The Toothache Club's a bit of a bar steward.

I am an avid pill popper myself, but careful what I pop. Paracetamol is moderately effective, non addictive, with few side effects.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    You could try:

Rinsing your mouth with some dissolved aspirin, or soaking a bit of cotton wool in same and holding it against the tooth/gum.

    Or,

A small ice cube. Or soak a cotton bud in water and put it straight into the freezer, then when frozen, hold it against the tooth/gum.

Otherwise, there's always the old, traditional faithful Oil of Cloves........ it's supposed to work.

There's also the toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Put some on the sore bits. No need to brush.

Hey ho! I'm really getting into the swing of this unwanted advice business! :)

Still, I suppose it shows we care.

Thing is, yes, it shows we care, but also the person concerned can accept or reject the advice to suit themselves. Sometimes someone might just offer something that hadn't occurred to the person concerned, so it's always worth making suggestions.

Better than being faced with a thread of silence, I would have thought! :D
