Re phones. When I grew up, a boy waited for me every day after school, jumped out from behind a bush, whacked me .... and ran off. I didn't like it, but that was the end of it. After he'd whacked me, I could go home and get on with my life ... and nothing more would go on until the next day.
These days he'd be messaging me all day at school, I bet, telling me he'd be waiting to whack me... then he'd whack me ... then tell all his friends on his phone he'd whacked me, then they'd shout out in the street he'd whacked me... and message me all evening about being whacked....
I might've told/shown/shared that with my friends.... we'd have eventually got a "gang" to "go and sort him out", or wait for him after school .... and, if we caught him by surprise we'd share/tell and laugh at him ....
.... so then he'd get a little gang, to bash our little gang - and 1-2 of them would know where 1-2 of us lived and would turn up on the doorstep and stand outside messaging that they were outside to whack whoever was inside.... and the one inside might be messaging the others to come round and have a go at them outside.

Nah, on day 2, you would walk along videoing, so whacko would be on video. Then it would go viral and he'd have everyone laugh at him for hitting a girl.
Here's a funny story: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-6708219/Woman-21-calls-exs-mother-wearing-dress-left-home-night-passion.html
If you can't bear the Mail online for all the ads, the short story is that a mother was caught out wearing a dress that she found in her son's bedroom that a girl he had had a one night stand with had left behind when she went home.
Sparks flew online after the fling saw the photo on the mum's facebook page and recognised the dress.
Went a little bit viral, split into two camps:
a) why was the girl identifying herself as a 'slapper'; why was she stalking the boy's mother's facebook page 18 months after a one night stand
b) why did mother steal the girl's dress, wasn't she too old to wear the ex's dress?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Just why?
(Assuming she had been wearing any underclothes.)
Even if she'd had a coat as well. You'd think she would have noticed!
Plus, some mothers of grown-up sons can be quite young, and can also have very good figures! She might only have been 35!
You are making stereotypical assumptions!Of course it is actually still possible to buy a phone that just does calls.....
Yes. I've got one.
(No, I still haven't got round to comparing tariffs!)

You calling me a dog?
He called me a dog?
Going down there...... *opens kitchen drawer* ... come on ... let's get him!!
So easy, eh!
Thoughts, into words .... it wouldn't happen if you'd had to say it to my face, then I'd had to find your house and plod all the way over there on my own.... without having an idea of what I was going to do when I got there as I'd have not already seen this stuff online all the time.... but now I know ... you get a knife... innit. Go down there... wiv ya crew .... innit. Three taps on a screen in my pocket and we're coming.0 -
I would say, re the boy who whacked me, I used the "old fashioned" method of revenge.... wait.
10 years later I had a mate ... and guess who she was dating!!! Yes, whack boy .... by then he was a petty criminal.... I overheard/they said he'd done some small rob, a burglary probably ..... it didn't take me long to dob that boy in ... and down he went.
Yes, it was "sad" that my friend was crying her boyfriend was in prison, but I got HEAPS of inner warm glow knowing I'd made that call and he'd got done.
Funny as farq as they say
I still laugh about it to this day, 40 years on.0 -
