    What? A whole pound? :p

I drove one once, a genuine left hooker, from the road to the neighbour's driveway - I felt seasick afterwards :(
I've got a bit of a thing for slightly offbeat stuff myself, so that fits right in.
Left hooker would be even better!

I went down the road today and saw two lambrettas, in a convoy, complete with loads of chrome accessories and flag-pole things.

    I grinned!
They saw me grinning and grinned back!

    Grinners of the world, unite!

Well, what an emotionally fraught morning...

By this time about twenty minutes had elapsed, and I was just about to get back into my car and go, when luckily the owner of the car returned, so I explained very apologetically what had happened, and then ....................
He said that those scratches had already been on the car!

OMG! What an honest man! I was so relieved, I gave him a hug!
I was quite a tearful jelly by this time, though!

Reminds me of a friend of a friend, who had a minor prang with another car in a supermarket carpark. When she tried to apologise, the driver of the other car said "I don't care - the car's stolen anyway" before disappearing into the supermarket. So she called the police, who turned up and were waiting to arrest the man when he came out of the supermarket. The police then thanked her for reporting him, and told her they were writing it up as his fault rather than hers!

    Could be worse.....

I believe it's quite near a village called Piddletrenthide. :D

(Appparently, Piddle is West Countryish for a stream...quite apt, really!)

Oh god! I need the loo, now!

Indeed. My mad uncle lived in Piddletrenthide for a while. It features in the title of his second autobiography:

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Joe has got through to stage 3 in his application for his placement year at the BBC...I think he is excited but nervous at the same time.

I've jumped from number 4 in my 'office/location' to number 2 and I am now being trained in management tasks so that I can cover the manager when she is off. My hours have also increased, possibly only on a temporary basis whilst another member is on long term sick but it may become permanent. It's still part time but the extra money will certainly come in handy and I still have a nice mix of shifts which allow me to rest up in between.

I knew I wouldn't be able to stay a normal bod for long, my ambition always gets the better of me and I then start displaying my knowledge/leadership skills without realising I am doing it :rotfl:

Yay! Well done Joe and well done you! :j

Going to be an Inner Herts resident as of Monday! I think it was September that I had the offer accepted so it has taken a while, but finally there :)

Congratulations Mas. Hope you are very happy there.

Dental implants are quite expensive, sadly. OH had 4 done a couple of years ago and it cost 11,000 altogether. I expect costs vary a bit according to where you live, though, and we're in Greater London.

If I were to consider one, it'd have to be the 2CV Sahara - 4WD with two engines and gearboxes, the only connections between front and rear being the control cables/linkages and the ground, no transfer box.
  • No worries! Here meaning UK, my bad :j
