I've been around on MSE and after reading lots of mortgage free threads (I'm weird, I get a thrill from reading about people doing well and paying down their mortgages, I'm the same on the debt free wannabee board too), started doing surveys again to try to boost my income a little...already got my first Amazon voucher ready for Christmas.

Talking about savings, I am so proud of myself. I've managed to save the equivalent of a week of wages by putting my odd coins in a jar daily and then on a Thursday before collecting my wages, emptying my purse into the savings pot. It's not a lot (I have an alternating rota, a short week and a long week. A short week is worth just shy of £50, a long week is just over £90..I've currently saved the equivalent of slightly over a short week), bearing in mind the amounts involved, I'm really quite chuffed.

I don't think that's weird, although I do think it shows you are a very very nice Nice Person. Considering that your disability, your boys' disabilities, and your ex's all round uselessness have prevented you from having a mortgage, let alone paying it off, I think it is exceedingly generous of you to rejoice over other people paying theirs off.

Is there any update on the OT's recommendations for your council accommodation, Sue?

Often they don't give any symptoms, which is why there is a national bowel screening programme.

If there are symptoms, they can be any of the symptoms connected to that area: change in bowel habits, blood, diahorrhea, constipation, urgent need to go.....

Most polyps are harmless, but some are not and some are only harmful if left for years.

Old neighbour was screened at a young age due to family history and they found 300 polyps and he had no symptons. 300 is a cause for concern!

My mum only had mild symptoms, which she put down to the codeine that she had been prescribed for injuries from a recent fall. Then all of a sudden her polyp completely blocked her bowel, making it telescope in on itself (an intussusception), ambulance admission, and emergency surgery. :(

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

We've just got home. Dad arrived into critical care at 6pm tonight, he seems ok although there is some concern over his blood pressure.

Absolutely cream crackered right now, been up since 5am and it's been a stressful day.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Sending hugs Sue and hope he is feeling better soon, even if I missed the original post.

Try to get yourself some rest.

I've now finally reached my home, cat was very pleased to see me and I am very glad to see my nice cosy bed.

Up early for work in the morning and then rinse and repeat with hospital visit and driving...energy tabs, painkillers and cups of tea are keeping me going at the moment!

Oh and if anyone wants to know where the most comfortable chairs in Colchester general hospital are, they are in the critical care relative's room, all other chairs at the hospital are quite literally a pain in the bum.

I'm trying to but they both mean so much to me that it is worth pushing myself for them.

Mum rung critical care this morning, his nurse passed the phone to dad so mum could speak to him directly. He sounds really good, his blood pressure is being managed and is under control and he seems to be doing really well.

She is so relieved ( we all are) and fingers crossed it keeps going this way. We are not out of the woods yet as the first week is the really eek time when things can go wrong.

Great news, Sue, and fingers glued crossed that continues.

As others have said, look after yourself........ apart from the fact that you don't want to make yourself ill, you won't be any use to anyone if you push yourself too hard and go flopbot. :A
