You can overthink things. I do it all the time. It's not good.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I doubt there'll be a call, but I have to be "1 hour ready" in case.
Polished the outside gutter downpipe this morning.... am I going too far?
I'm discovering housework I never knew existed...
Pastures is polishing pipes.
Gutters are glowing and gleaming like gold, 'cos

I hope you're going to buff up the pebbles in your front garden next.
Dusty pebbles would really put me off a house.PasturesNew wrote: »I find him very annoying to watch. He's visually irritating for openers.
He also appears very empathic.
And visually, I find him appealing!(I just lurve spiders!)

No, no, no.
Gotta do the brickwork next, else the muck off that will make the newly buffed-up pebbles dirty again - on second thoughts, better do the roof tiles first :rotfl:0 -
PasturesNew wrote: »The pea shingle I just kick back into place, I think early morning birds, seeking worms, pick pieces out and there are usually 3-4 pieces of pea shingle out of place if I go looking.
That's very likely - worms, spider's eggs and other insects usually.
I have gravel around the edges of my patio and clay pellets on top of the soil in some pots and I'm forever having to pick up the pellets and sweep the gravel back to where it should be. I put up with it because I'd rather there were birds around than not.0 -
Simon Reeve was in the Troodos Mountains in the snow in his latest series :blushing:
I went to see his tour last month. He is genuinely likeable and self effacing. There were parts that were funny, such as when he pulled out his Kevlar underpants, which he uses in war zones.
It was also really thought provoking, especially around issues such as global warming, child labour and modern slavery. He talks about his job as a real privilege and says that he won't work with anyone who takes that privilege for granted.
Well worth catching if you get the chance. I've been to see Michael Palin, Charley Boorman and Simon Reeve talk about their travels. All totally different, all very interesting in their own ways. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

As somebody who has never travelled - and will never travel - I can think of nothing more bizarre than paying to sit and listen to somebody else's travel stories.... that's a bit like those "holiday snaps" people used to (allegedly) be forced into looking at after people came home from their 2 weeks in a caravan in Bognor, but at a posher level0 -

Not to me
Viva My friend in Scotland went to see him on 12th Oct and is about to see - or may have seen by now because I can't remember the date she said it was going to be - Levison Wood, who(m?) I'd not heard of before she said she was reading one of his books!0 -
I had to google Kevlar underpants.
Reminded me of Corporal Jones in Dad's Army... "They don't like it up 'em!"
(Although I don't suppose they'd protect the family jewels from a bayonet thrust).(I just lurve spiders!)
