No, there is really nowhere to put one. I know some people convert the understairs cupboard, but i don't think ours is big enough

thanks for the idea though.
PN My son bought me a Logitech wireless keyboard-and-mouse set when I needed a new one; he said it was a very good make.
That's the trouble with most houses... you can't easily add a bit on. As you know, every day I look at "all houses up to £25k above my budget in the whole of the county" ... so I see a lot of unexpected things. I've just seen a house with a conservatory that had a loo in the corner
No photo of it, so you can't see how that looks... presumably it's a cubicle and handy for when gardening.
I had a wireless mouse/keyboard about 12 years ago... those ones weren't that good

Just found the next "most likely" .... and some might be surprised to hear it has a school directly behind it ... and a huge recreation ground across the road.
It's not about being "kid free" and noise specifically ... it's about nuisance/being able to defend your borders.
This one's not ideal, but I did drive down that road the other week and thought, in passing, "this road would do".... it's an unremarkable 2 bedroom place with 2 ORP in the front driveway and a SSW rear garden. Nothing to write home about, but better on paper than any of the others - mostly due to orientation.
So, I've just two in the running at the moment as "might probably do":
1/ This one, £25k under top budget.
2/ Bizarrely, the one I viewed/dismissed ... because there's nothing better been available since, so it has to stay on the list still, tucked at the back ... but, in comparing to others, it's tucked at the back in 2nd place. At top of budget.
EDIT: Now having doubts .... *sighs* ... it's so hard.0 -
a huge recreation ground across the road
Where grew up there was a huge recreation ground a mile away. It had visiting circuses and fairgrounds that attracted noise and undesirables. When it wasn't in official use it also attracted boy racers and sometimes drug dealers.
I'm not sure we would have wanted to live very near to it.

Yeah... they can be undesirable places after dark, and leading up to dark....
Google can be a good starting point by putting in the name of the road and the Rec - and then the word police, or drugs, or anti-social. See what comes up. Ditto the online crime maps - they're handy for a rough idea of where the dross slumps down to
Crime maps show a line right outside those houses... so it looks a bit iffy. There's another house about 12 doors down, better/"ideal", newly renovated/extended and has a garage... looks lovely ... but £36k over budget

I just had a look at the streetcheck details for my road.
I am now wondering where the person is that holds a South American passport. Also where the three Buddhists and one Hindu live!
On balance, the statistics make the road sound more densely populated than it appears to be in reality. Plus the crime statistics, (within a mile and a half radius), though not bad, don't give the whole picture at all.
This is because there is one small area within that circle that is responsible for most of the 'crime', which is mainly anti-social stuff. That small area isn't my road! The rest of the circle is actually very well-behaved and has nice properties of mixed sizes, and some nice shops, plus open spaces.
So you do have to take these googled statistics as a rough guide only.(I just lurve spiders!)

I am 300 yards from a popular 24/7 national food outlet... it's where teens and others go ... and videos have been known to exist of teens fighting coppers. They've not ever knowingly bothered me or anywhere near here... they just stick to the forecourt ... and their homes are not in this direction.0 -
Got it - if there's ONE thing this house has ... it's a gun turret.
In budget.
