I hate it when it says you've still got a file/folder open so it won't delete/rename it ... even though you know you haven't ... and have to write it down to do later/tomorrow as it's clearly being a right thick bar steward right now
Doesn't happen often... just annoying when it does (about once every 2-5 years)0 -

http://www.lockhunter.com/ works for me very nicely when that happens - free and works on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of W10, according to the blurb..0 -

There appear to be a couple of files with no extensions and "funny" characters making up the names.
Just searched for the name of the file. Looks like I'm not the only one can't get rid.
Might be a Linux boot disc to remove them!
ETA just realised they are "securom" files brought over with stuff I wanted from the old install.0 -
Just heard about Rail Pastors on the news, so looked them up.

They are trained by the Samaritans to patrol stations looking out for people, who look as if they might need to talk or hear a friendly voice.
Apparently, incidents involving potential suicides etc. are down substantially as a result.
At last some good news!(I just lurve spiders!)

What a brilliant idea! Thanks for the link Pyxis.
My SIL is a street pastor, I will ask her if her group do something like this. Street Pastors do a great job too, often helping the Police and Ambulance service by providing help and reassurance to those out late at night.
Something else I've only heard about in the last month is firms appointing mental health first aiders. Sounds like a good idea too. It's about time mental health was supported in the same way as physical health. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Ooh, there's something wet falling out of the sky. I think it might be called rain, but it's been so long since we've had any of that I can't remember what it's like.0

Might as well get it done, though.
(Says the arch-procrastinator!)
Any NP who struggle with procrastination may enjoy this TED talk.Joe finished his first year of uni with a 2.1, he's chuffed with that as it contained a maths module and also a programming language module he had absolutely no knowledge of prior to going. ...he got a very high first in that module (high 90s).
Also better news from Josh this year after being kicked out and taken back in again on appeal, he finished 2nd year on a 2.2. A huge turnaround for him although his mental health dipped again towards the end otherwise it would have been a 2.1
:T Well done Sue's boys.Just to say I deleted my post, felt I was showing offDD is working very very hard and we're very proud of her but she hasn't had to face the sort of obstacles Josh and Joe have.
:T Well done ivyleaf's DD, for whatever it was you deleted.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Seems a bit strange..... to wander round looking for "sad looking people" ... and "people who appear to be intent on going where they shouldn't be going" (e.g. climbing fences/bridges etc to throw themselves off.
Having said that - this is a practical and free solution to loneliness... work out where the pastors hang out ... turn up ... then stand at the edge looking sad... they'll come and chat to you!0
