On another note... camping... don't they want a small fortune these days?

Four can do it as cheaply as one, making it look "cheap" ... but for one it can be horrendous.

You can sit in a paper bag on the pitch without electricity for about £25/night quite often....

Yes, you can find cheaper sites - if you want to drive 300-400 miles to get to one (fuel costs) ... and yes you can go "out of season" if you want to sit in the rain and stare at a big puddle.....

But, as a remark, for something that used to be "quite cheap" - it's all gentrified.

    Everything is!
We get fish and chips sometimes, and it's about £12 for two of us.
I think back in the 60s, a bag of chips was 6d, and a fish was a couple of bob.
Used to get them when we cam out of the cinema.
So that's have been 12.5 p in new money. Or 25p for two.
Now I don't know what the inflation rate is, but it's not 50 times more expensive now.
Just looked. purchasing power is about 20 times.
    So should be a fiver!

Looking randomly ... if you rock up in a 30' campervan that cost you £75k, park up, pull out your awning and all your gear, let your wife and 2 kids tumble out of the van .... it's £25 for the night.

Rock up next door to that with your £20 tent .... and it's £25 for the night.

    :)

For £3-5/night leccy, the motorhome can run its fridge freezer, telly, microwave, electric hob, full indoor lighting, all the kids' devices etc etc ... and a nice little heater....

All the tent's probably got is a little lamp ... so you don't bother as £3-5 for leccy's too pricey for what you're going to use.

If you have a little tent, you might get away with camping in the woods for a couple of nights. Dig a latrine ....

You can get most of the benefit of camping by camping in your back garden. For example, being woken at 4 in the morning when the geese fly over. And you still have all the usual sanitary fixtures available.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Missed you in Lisbon CK.

We've decided not to go to Israel next year. Not because of boycotts or anything like that. More to do with it being further away and not as easy to get to from the UK.
