    In all seriousness, stop decorating.
You can't stop once you've started. Right now I've started two small walls. One's quite streaky - and the other's streaky where it's done, but it's not been finished. So I have to keep going.

I'm only "dabbing bits and bobs" after this, where it's blindingly screaming in your face "shabby"... like the stair handrail, that needs doing .... but I'm matching the paint in ... as the spindles are fine. Front door also needs "dabbing at" where it's peeled away from round the windows, hoping not to have to do the whole door!

All that matters is that it is clean, tidy and doesn't smell.

Many won't use the PP, they will either ignore it, or just see it as a sign they COULD.... I doubt many would wish to, due to the hassle of the process and living with it.

It'll be clean and tidy - but there are just 1-2 spots that need a quick dab... plus 3 small walls. I'm just super slow and super rubbish at it.

I agree with viva. "Decor a bit tired" is no worse than "decor done by someone who doesn't know what they're doing". In fact, it's probably better. I wouldn't have a problem buying a house whose owner hadn't decorated for a few years, but I would definitely be scared off by a house that looked as though its owner had been bodging things.

This is part of the problem, I'm not a bodger as such ... and it's because I'm a perfectionist without the motivation/skills that it's taking so long... hand painting, using a child's paintbrush, round something is attention to detail that's painful to do.

It will look perfect WHEN I've finished... it's just the route is rocky :)

Somewhere in my kitchen I'm sure I have a small pile of chocolate covered peanuts. I just bought them, I opened the bag, tipped some out into my hand, ate two, then thought "Ah, better put these down while I make a coffee" .... and now I can't find them and I don't remember eating them.

No worries.... just poured more out of the bag, but you do wonder if you're losing your marbles sometimes!

I know for a fact that can't be possible ... it's only 9.40am, haven't yet mustered the mental strength to even think about getting paint out. I've ticked "WIN" on my day's list just by having been out and bought new brushes/rollers etc :)

Also bought a bag of disposable gloves since I seem to cover myself in paint, trouble is, they only had size medium and I'm definitely a small, so they might end up causing more problems than they solve :)

    Well, that's gone well!

    Kitchen, first coat ... nailed.

Small 4" rollers, a paintbrush and edger for the edges ... Pads are good, but then I whipped out one of the newly bought rollers to give it a different finish and I liked it so much I stayed with that.

Phew... thought I was doomed ... but I think it'll be OK.

Is nailing the paint on easier than using traditional methods?

Anything must be easier than the current method. :)
