I was thinking more in terms of your painty fingers typing away and painting the computer by accident!

No, this Dulux emulsion scrubs off.

The paint that sticks and stays is Dulux "Made by Me" gloss. Truly nasty stuff that is! The tin clearly says use water/soap to get it off... and don't use paint stripper, turps or all those other old fashioned things... but it lies. Nothing shifts it ... still got spatters on my fingers.

It still is yummy, thank you. Maybe should have had a thicker layer of buttercream.
Feel free to have a virtual slice.

Thank you, don't mind if I do....trying not to eat "real" cake atm, so a piece of virtual cake is just the job :D

Decided to move furniture in the bedroom - and swap two pieces... drawers and wardrobe... so, everything out, vacuum/clean behind etc, empty carcasses swapped over, a few drawers put back ... then pfft and I left the room and shut the door quickly behind me :)

I did just wonder if I could face that 3rd coat ... so went into the kitchen to look, but the light's not right yet for really seeing what needs doing and what's OK etc... so it's best to leave it.

Bedroom looks a lot bigger the way I've got it now. I'd not bothered to think about "how it looks" before, it was all just "in there somewhere".

Right now though, all I can see everywhere in the house is "stuff everywhere" as I've been pulling so much out here and there to sort things out ... and leaving it ... it's more like the aftermath of a hurricane zone.

When I moved 11 years ago I bought quite a lot of vacuum pack bags, which are real space savers. I'd kept them "in case" and had them all in a bag ... I've filled 4 with throws and bedlinen I won't be needing for now ... and went to vacuum them up but these ones are leaking. So now I'll have to go through the lot and then put a bit of masking tape on them writing "leaking" or "OK to use" on a strip of tape.

Even when they leak, they're good as "clothes containers for moving" as they are at least "a bag". Bit annoying though ....

I've been "fiddling with small and unimportant stuff" for the last half an hour. Just those random bits and bobs you have around, gathering them together. I need to tidy up/de-clutter and pack away things, but will always need to know what's where... the trouble is, when you randomly want something you know you've got somewhere.

Still not found the mailbox key ... wherever it went, it's gone forever. The only bizarre and irrational thought I have on this is that there is the 0.01% potential that, somehow, it slid off its hook and fell into the general rubbish bag as I was putting it out ... although then the dates don't match I don't think...and it'd be a really peculiar situation to have occurred, so much so that I don't believe it's possible.

I don't have to travel into London much, but on the few occasions I have, they seem close down the connection from Victoria rail station and the underground due to rush hour congestion.

In fact it can be easier to get the vicky line by going into London on a Waterloo train and then changing at Vauxhall and missing out Victoria rail station completely.

I dislike it when shop opening hours differ and you want to do a "Round Robin".... I just did a Sainsbobs (opens 7.30) and 4ldi (opens 8.00) run and left here at ~8.00. I also grabbed a bucket of hedge clippings that I thought I'd take to the tip as it was en-route.... darned tip doesn't open until 9am.

Painting today ..... if I'm really lucky and "work hard" (not for long thank goodness) ... then I could see the end of these two rooms today - and they are the largest painting jobs. After that it's a stair hand rail and the front door (hopefully not all of that, but I bet I'm not lucky) ... and just "touching in" random bits and bobs that need small attention.

I've located blinds... just £11 and they're aluminium (white, matt) ... so I now know where to get those from. Need 3, but until I try to fit the first one I don't know if they'll just slide straight into the existing top casing, or if I'll have to "get a little man in" to remove the old casing and fit the new ones.... if they fit, then the casings will probably need a light coat of white paint as they're an indiscernible shade of light pastel green at the moment, so that might stand out as "!!!!!!'s going on here?" if I don't dab a bit of white at it.

Painting little bits and bobs is easy though as it's just you and a small pot and a brush.... when you're doing whole walls of any sort there's all manner of stuff lying around... covers/protectors, assortment of tools, wet wipes, kitchen towel, brushes you're in the middle of using, rollers you're in the middle of using, pads you're in the middle of using, masking tape, scissors ... it's an endless vista of clut.

*fingers crossed that top casings are all identical, or close enough to get away with it* As I know where I'm getting those from, there's no rush to acquire them. Knowing where is the hardest bit of sourcing things.

I'm a firm believer in get it while it's there, if it's the right thing in the right colour at the right price.

Too many times I've assumed something will still be being sold by a shop, only to find they've run out, or don't do that colour any more, or that size, or something.

Shops seem to turn over their stock types a lot faster than they used to.

Wilkinson used to do a huge range of picture/photo frames, but they only sell a few styles/sizes now.
And I got some cheap Venetian blinds from them, but when I wanted another one, they'd stopped doing them.

Which reminds me....... I must get some more hair colour. I've only got 6 months' supply left! :)
Seriously, though, the colour in question is a very special one, and no-one else does anything remotely close, so that's why! (And there's no use-by date on them!)

Plus I'm down to my last 69 loo rolls!:eek:
(Due to being unwell for weeks and not keeping the stock of them topped up!) :D:D:D

You're right - and it's annoying. I know what you mean about getting something while you can, but, this time, they're marked as "new" and I do plan to buy these things I'm lining up in the next 2-3 weeks. It's just the kitchen base unit and the blinds, both from B&Q.

Food's where I notice it a lot, I find something that's great -and they change things .... I've just been looking in 4ldi for the packs of 8 choc-ices they had last year, still no sign of them. I buy them because they're cheap ... and wrapped in single portions... I think they were 89p for 8 last summer.
...down to my last 69 loo rolls!
    Almost a humanitarian crisis!

I buy packs of 18 and will usually have 2-3 packs under the stairs, but I'm now going to run that stock down and just always ensure I've got "the next pack ready" at most .... no point buying things that just end up in a removals van!
