Oh Sue, I am sorry you feel so rough atm..An OT could well be a good idea.

Pastures, painting round the boiler is a very brave thing for you to be doing and I want to say a huge "WELL DONE". I hope that doesn't sound patronising, because it's not meant to.

Tomorrow it is my husband's birthday. I decided to make some cake for him to take into work tomorrow.
    I started, after much procrastination.
Pulling the mixer out of the back of the cupboard, I was a bit hasty and a big glass Pyrex jug fell out. And smashed. Amazing how much glass there is. Cleared it up, wrapped in newspaper, managed a deep cut on my thumb.
After a break to let the bleeding stop I then hoovered the kitchen floor.
    Cake went in the oven.
Butter icing (coffee flavour) - was going OK till I spilled a bit of the coffee on the floor where I had just cleared up the glass.

I wish I had never bothered. Still, I did get to lick the spoons so I suppose that's one good thing.
Reminds me why I don't do baking. Thumb still hurts!

Let's hope the cake doesn't sink in the middle. :D:D:D ;)

This might not help, but I've often stood on my worktop, and I bet I'm heavier than you, Pastures.

I just have to remind myself not to step into the sink. :D

It's important not to stand on the draining board either. They get bent and don't drain properly so you get standing water and then water marks when it dries etc.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

It's more like a traybake coffee cake with coffee icing but miraculously it didn't sink in the middle. Maybe I'd better check it again.

    Yum yum! :)

    A cake that isn't chocolate! :)

Don't worry, Lydia, there isn't really a drainingboard *, and if there were, I deffo wouldn't stand on it!

    * only a tiny little one between the two sinks, and nowhere near where I'd be standing!

Just wondering how the NPs and their families were getting on with the trains today. Sounds utter chaos for some.

Am I right in thinking that three lines have changed every single train time?
Has it been radically changed, i.e. some trains cut out altogether, or is it marginal changes, or a mixture?

Yes. If you happen to live in Harpenden, by way of example, the train company has unilaterally cut 1/3 of the trains that previously stopped there. But on top of that, several trains were cancelled as the trains weren't yet ready. So some stations ended up with half the number of trains and lots of people unable to get on.

Couldn't be happier, my trains are at least 10 mins quicker, my normal train is still there and there is now a new train 6 minutes later for the days I miss it, previously it was a 16 minute wait to a crowded train. The new train is particularly quick and today had seats(unheard of) because it doesn't stop in Harpenden (stick that in your 2 million pound houses and smoke it).

Trains home are also much quicker and more frequent. All were running today and within 5 minutes of time.

    win all round
    I think....
