If things hadn't been as they have been, I'd have probably stuck around here another 5 years or so.
Indeed, it's probably doing me a favour as the differential between buying another house in the next year will be smaller than if I leave it... so I can afford more today than if I leave it 5 years "drifting".
So, probably good - and maybe I should've done this last year instead of trying to "stick with the bed I made" and go down the PP route/waste of time.
Well, as Maggie said, the PP might help a sale along, so it might be money well-spent.
And as for doing it sooner......... well, you were trying to make the best of it, and not having a knee-jerk reaction, but you've tried, and now you realise it's not going to work, so you know the decision is a good one..... you're ready to make it now.(I just lurve spiders!)

When a new estate was built near my house, which was newish but no longer NHBC, it put the price of these houses up as people came to see the new houses, or had seen them, and then came to look at ours as the next best thing... They got to live in the area for less and the people here got more for their houses. Could be a silver lining.

The boss of Sainsbury has forgotten to treat all cameras as live.
Sainsbury's boss Coupe caught on camera singing http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-43956537
In the circumstances a decidedly unfortunate choice of song.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
PN hopefully you will find somewhere peaceful and secluded. You've certainly been sounding miserable.

self storage.
Yes, I've used it in the past and there's one that's opened up down the road that I plan to price up.
There's a lot I've got that "might come in handy" that really is just cheap clutter I've picked up at, say, car boots etc.... there's not much that's "really wanted/essential"... although once you start emptying drawers and cupboards it's surprising how high the pile of stuff grows!0 -

Mine's still got about 2 years of that left. Not that it's "worth anything" in reality. If the house hasn't fallen down by now, then anything that goes wrong is most likely outside of its influence, so it's pretty toothless.0 -

Could you do your own car boot sale?
I'm working my way up to trying to find a "table share" ... I'd hate to stand alone and do one (done that before, it's hateful) .... and I've not got enough stuff to look overly exciting ...
A few items might be best shifted on a FB selling page, it's fast/free so worth a punt for some relevant items.
I am also going to chuck some stuff into the local auction house for their fortnightly "general tat/household stuff" sales - I tried to phone them earlier, but got an answerphone. I've also got 1-2 small items that I want to run past them as they might be "antiques", worth about £10, but still for their "antiques" sale and not their "general tat" sale.
It's a question of going through everything and putting them into piles of what could be done ....0 -
If I were being auctioned, I'm hoping I'd still qualify for 'general tat', rather than antiques. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
