I've peeked out the front window from upstairs. Usually my road has a rush hour of people driving down to their places of work (it's a dead end full of units) .... it's usually a rumbling from 6am of the occasional lorry, then a steady stream of cars for an hour or so of rush hour.

This morning nothing, I've not been aware of a single car moving on the road past my house. I did see one chap walking along the path though -slowly/badly and slipping ....silly teet had his hands in his pockets though! That's a sure way to break both arms and a nose as if he suddenly goes he can't try to save that - and he should have his arms outstretched to help with wobbliness.

The 'official' advice is to walk like a penguin, wth slightly bent knees, feet turned out a bit, arms out to sides a bit, and taking small steps. :D

They even gave you a handy diagram on the TV, which I photographed and posted on another thread..... I'll see if I can find it.

Because there's no way to get them off. You don't have the vehicles to get to them, tow trucks won't work, you need 4x4s, or tractors, so you'd need enough of those ....

Plus, if the snow's been drifting you can't just send the snowploughs in - a drift could actually contain a car or a person so it needs to be checked by someone with a stick to prod into it and make sure that it's only snow before the plough can clear it

    Yes, two things, actually.

Huggies have been on special offer recently. Hence, the large number in stock.

It’s good to have a clean bum, but Huggies are not flushable. You need a small pedal bin next to the loo, plus a plentiful supply of plastic bags to line it with.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    Oh, I'm laughing!

Is this a social history thing? Having a 17 and 12 year old, Huggies are nothing but nappies to me, but having read this three times and googled, they have started making baby wipes too. :rotfl:

Missed call from Devon. They have closed so at least my money is safe!

At the moment, it looks ok outside with no extra snow fall overnight...windy as anything though and probably icy (it was another fun drive home from work last night with the ice)

Lovely community spirit going on here on our local Facebook pages with those who can get out and about offering lifts to others or offering to go to the local shops for them...a lot of those offering are from Joe's and Josh's years at school.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

We've got an endless supply of nappy sacks anyway, as we've a dog that needs to be walked.
Not looking forward to that. :(

Is there a Big Birthday today, DG? :bdaycake:

    Oh! TRAMPOLINE! :rotfl:

I have a feeling that the family weekend in Devon for my big birthday might be scuppered. Seem to be having quite a spectacular run of bad luck. At least it's only stuff/money.

    I love your positive attitude.

    Happy Birthday!

I also thought Huggies only made nappies.

I'm thinking it's a bit of a yukky way to save money. I hope you are factoring in the cost of the plastic bags in your calculations.

The last nappy sacks I bought at Mr T for dog walking were 300 for 35p. As I stocked up with many they may have risen in price by now.

No dog walking here today. I'm not risking it as the snow is now compacted and icy.

Oh I didn't know Huggies were wipes!
    Still a bit confused, though.
Andrex and Sainsbury's both make personal hygiene wipes, so why use baby wipes? (They say 'flushable' but they're not, as they don't disintegrate, so you'd still need a bin etc.). I do use them occasionally.

And why does it save money? Confused dot com.

I buy wipes ....and I buy the cheapest ones, I don't care if they say they're baby wipes if the pack is cheaper than the one that doesn't say it.

I keep a box in the car for wiping my hands if I've blown up the tyres, or got diesel on them after refuelling, or any other random thing that's made me get mucky hands while out.

The packs I prefer are those with a plastic "lid" that clips/unclips in the middle of the floppy plastic bag, as I'm not using them often (1 pack in 2-3 years in the car) it seems more secure to buying those with a bit of sticky tape as a tab.... and, most often, it's the baby wipes that have that feature.
