    Good for him!
And glad you're all right. Hope you can get some rest now. When's your next shift at work?

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Tomorrow morning, first thing but thankfully only a short one.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I had to read that twice. I thought you were talking about your parents' love life still. :o
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

At Aged P's flat today. He wants me to show him how to use the washing machine so he won't have to keep going back to his house to do his laundry. Off to buy some washing powder because there doesn't seem to be any in the flat.

Edit: washing machine now whirring round and round with washing inside. :) Next task is to help him register with a new GP.

Edit again: I am on a roll! Phone call made. Off to the GP surgery to fill in forms and make appointment to talk about new hearing aids.

Is he enjoying himself there, Lydia?

Any problems with him settling in?

More or less, Pyxis. The only things he expresses dissatisfaction about are all to do with the process of moving - he complains, for example, that in his house he knew where everything lived, whereas now when he can't find something he doesn't know where to start looking for it. He says he doesn't like living in a muddle, and it will take time to sort out. He never says anything about not liking the place for itself, though, or about wishing he hadn't moved, or anything like that.

Also, the other residents are all very friendly, but I can't help feeling he'd enjoy it a lot more if he could hear what they are saying to him. He's been putting off replacing his lost hearing aid (very expensive private one) because he thought he'd like to give the NHS another try and see if their hearing aids have got any better since he last tried them. But his old GP left the practice he used to be at, which is the wrong side of town for where he's now living, so the first step needed to be getting him registered with a new GP nearer the flats so that he can arrange an appointment about hearing aids. Not that this will necessarily make as much difference as one might hope. He's only lost one of his hearing aids, but he doesn't always wear the one that isn't lost, anyway.

GP registration now done. My next task for today is to send off his driving licence to get his new address on it.

I thought you could get hearing aids from high street opticians nowadays. As mad as that sounds. My local Boots opticians has one day a week for hearing tests.

I'm fairly sure that Boots and Specsavers are generally private, thus expensive. But, in some areas, e.g. Lincolnshire, the NHS have partnered with Specsavers to dispense the aids on the NHS.

My dad had new NHS hearing aids whereas mum has old ones. They were as different as night and day. It is definitely worth checking whether something similar is available before going private. Mum has the big ones, but dad's were very comfortable and discreet.
