Do you have Swedish connections?
If and when I do a DNA test, I would expect to find Scandinavian (though more likely Danish), German, Dutch and Belgian roots, as that's where the surnames in my chart come from. All down to the Norfolk.seafaring connection.
I don't have any living connections to Scandinavia, sadly, as if I did I'd be using them to get a hedge my bets passport.
I have not mentioned here before, but DH and I really like Scandinavia. Just before Brexit we were going to fly to the South of Sweden to view a house that we were interested in buying. Our plan was to retire part of the year to Sweden and use the house as a base to explore continental Europe. The house was absolutely gorgeous and we could have got not only to Malmo but to Copenhagen in a little over an hour. Unfortunately it's unlikely to happen now. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I often feel I'd be deeply suspicious of anybody who didn't like Scandinavia! It'd be like disliking family, friendship or freedom. When compared with the countries vying to be superpowers, I reckon they're the most wrongfully under-rated countries in the world. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

I thoroughly agree.
Love the languages too, plus the input from the Vikings into English.
I spent 4years mixing with loads of Scandiwegians, and they were great. Been to Norway three times.
The only downside for me is the length of night in the winter months. I'm already prone to SAD, and that's living in the south of England.(I just lurve spiders!)

I guess I didn't even realise that Scandinavia was an actual country, as opposed to being a "general region over there in Europe ... that's all a bit cold".
I've probably never met a Scandinavian person, or m/any people from "those places in Europe that are up at the top where it's cold".
It all comes under the heading of "I'm not interested .... in things I'll never do/places I'll never go to".0 -

It isn't, it's the name for the region comprising Denmark, Norway and Sweden - although it often gets used to include Finland which is, technically, incorrect and should be referred to as the Nordic Counties which also include Iceland, Greenland, Svalbard, the Faroe Islands and the Aland Islands.0 -

Has everyone been ordered to change their password?
It has certainly been widespread.(I just lurve spiders!)

Seems that way - plus, every time I've been away for an hour or so it insists that I log in again :-(
At least it was happy with me using the same password as the "new" one0 -

I have.
Parents' meeting tonight. My Y11 have a nice bunch of parents. Not one "difficult" appointment.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
We all have. Some other posters are celebrating returning them to their original ones, but whether that's worth bragging about's another matter. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
